We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie Menze and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angie, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
One piece of conventional advice I disagree with is the idea that “you have to wait for inspiration to create good work.”

Many people think creativity only strikes when you’re feeling inspired, but I’ve learned that showing up and doing the work consistently—even when you don’t feel 100% inspired—often leads to the best results. Creativity is more about discipline and persistence than waiting for the perfect mood. In fact, pushing through the “off” days can unlock new ideas and growth.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I approach each project with a strong personal vision and emotional connection that shapes the entire story. I’m always pushing myself to bring something fresh and meaningful to every shoot, whether it’s through experimenting with new styles or focusing on the relationships I build with my collaborators. That deeper creative intention and the way I connect with people is what I believe really makes my work stand out.

I’ve faced creative blocks and moments where inspiration was hard to find, but those challenges have helped me grow both creatively and emotionally. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you can’t rely on everyone, but you will find a handful of incredible collaborators who elevate your work and push you to explore new directions. Building strong relationships with those people and constantly experimenting with fresh ideas and styles has kept me inspired and evolving.

Though I’m not behind the camera as much these days, photography remains a love I deeply appreciate. The timeless work I’ve created through the years is something I cherish, and it continues to influence how I approach creativity in every aspect of my life. I want the world to know that my journey is about growth, connection, and the joy of storytelling—whether through images or other creative outlets.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting Las Vegas, I’d probably start by taking them up to Mount Charleston. It’s cooler up there, peaceful, and such a beautiful escape from the city—perfect for a hike and some fresh air. After that, we’d come back down and enjoy a relaxing day by the pool, then head to dinner at Crossroads Kitchen at Resorts World, one of my favorite spots. I’d also take them to something fun, like the Arte Museum, Topgolf, or a show on The Strip. Depending on what’s going on, we might catch a hockey game or Aces basketball game—there’s always something happening in Vegas.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God first, He deserves all the praise in my life.
