Meet Aaron & Tiffany Phan | Co-Founders of Beenz and Beans

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron & Tiffany Phan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron & Tiffany, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Beenz and Beans supports our community by keeping everyone happy with delicious coffee and functional with caffeine!
Ok real answer, and story time. In 2019, we lost our son Kaden at almost 39 weeks gestation. We were 11 days away from his due date when his heart stopped beating and he was delivered stillborn. In 2022, we lost our almost 3 month old Kora. She fought challenge after challenge during her lifetime with congenital heart disease. Their passing shattered us and those years hold a darkness beyond what words can describe. In the darkest of times, the warmth and support of our community carried us through.
We always said we would give back in honor of our sweet Kaden and Kora when we felt ready. Then came Beenz and Beans—where our love for coffee and commitment to giving back collided. Our mission came together plain and simple: to support families and children in need.
In 2025, Beenz and Beans served a total of 140 free handcrafted lattes to families in need and donated a total of $750 to children in need. We are deeply proud of the work we do and grateful for the support of our coffee community, who help make this all possible.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Tiffany: After years of pregnancy and child loss, I feel incredibly grateful to step away from my career in human resources to be a full-time stay-at-home mom to our third child. My decade in HR shaped me into a dependable, reliable, and proactive professional, while the past two years at home have strengthened my patience, empathy, and super-woman multitasking skills. I bring all of these values with me as Aaron and I grow Beenz and Beans together.
Aaron: I am a registered nurse in cardiology with a background in emergency medicine. I am wired to be compassionate and caring as an RN, but after experiencing much loss, I go the extra mile to be there for others so they are not alone in whatever battles they’re facing.
I got to where I am through a lot of trial and error. I changed my major several times in school and tried a lot of different careers, but I would say the culmination of all my experiences helped shape and guide me to where I am meant to be. My advice to you: if something doesn’t serve you, don’t be afraid to try something new. Even if you are scared. It’s better to be scared and have new opportunities open up than to stay in the same situation and be comfortably uncomfortable…for the rest of your life.
What I would love for you to know about Beenz and Beans is that we are a husband and wife duo who created this business not only to share our of love of coffee but to give people hope that even through tough times, there can be light and resilience. We want to be a gentle helping hand when you need it. And, if you would like to give back alongside us, we can help others together one cup of coffee and one kind gesture at a time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Our best vacations are actually itinerary-free. One of our favorite vacation memories is from our honeymoon in Kauai, Hawaii—we were driving down the main road with the windows down, wind blowing through our hair. We zipped by a coconut stand and both gave each other a look, like “we gotta go back!”. We flipped a u-turn and parked our car on an unpaved dirt road and walked up to a mom-and-pop stand for a fresh coconut. It felt like we were buying from our own uncle. Second best memories are from the mountains—where we eat whatever we’ve packed in our bags, star-gaze, bask in the warmth of the campfire and sleep in tents.
If our friends were to visit for a week, we would pick a destination everyone is happy with, and then take it moment by moment along the way—eating and drinking whatever sparks a craving and stopping by all of the interesting small shops that catches our eye. It would be spontaneous and adventurous!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost: Our Kaden and Kora. They are our guiding light in everything we do. They are the heart of Beenz and Beans.
Each other. We couldn’t have done any of this alone. This is all thanks to Tiffany’s initial love for coffee stemming from childhood watching her dad make and drink Vietnamese drip coffee. It’s thanks to Aaron’s willingness to learn how to make the perfect cup of coffee for Tiffany (even when he could barely tolerate it in the beginning), which led him down the wonderfully wild world of coffee. It’s thanks to Aaron’s crazy ideas and Tiffany’s love for adventure. He’s the coffee enthusiast, lead latte artisan, chief visionary officer and she’s the trusted taste tester, community ambassador, and head of making it happen.
Last, but definitely not least: our coffee community. We started selling Beenz and Beans coffee in 2025 and had no consistent schedule due to our full-time job and life with a toddler. However, anytime we had a last minute pop-up, our community showed up for us. They bought coffee for themselves and for their friends and families. A portion of every single cup of coffee, all tips, and all donations went towards our mission to support families and children in need. So, the 140 free handcrafted lattes served to families and donation of $750 to children in need? That’s a huge thanks to our beautiful community.
