We had the good fortune of connecting with Ramiro Gastelum and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ramiro, what role has risk played in your life or career?
i think taking risk should be something people try way more often. it’s exciting to push these new boundaries and see where that can take me.

Taking risk has been something i’ve practiced since i was little, and i think it’s shaping the way i create and think in my life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I always had a love for electronic music since i can remember, even growing up listening to fka twigs, crystal castles, arca. i remember my friends always thinking it was weird music while i thought their taste was just boring. during the covid pandemic while we were all on lockdown i picked up the habit of constantly using garageband for hours. It’s the first time i ever did something that i felt like i was personally creating something for myself, all me. and felt so automatically connected to it. i was like wait im kinda good!
Having a 9-5 wasn’t allowing me to fully be present in my music and it was making me feel a certain way that just made me upset. so in april of 2021 i quit my job the day after my birthday and decided i was going to fully go into music because that’s all i wanted to do. then after a couple months in 2022 i released my first EP “Fx sound project” which was more of a experimental project with 4 tracks out. Fast forward to now 2026 i am releasing my newest album with 14 songs “DOES ANYTHING REALLY MATTER?” a electronica album that feels so chaotic but fun and new to the ears. It’s definitely my most proudest work i’ve done so far, with brassy synth leads, and high heavy drums throughout the album. My biggest goal with making music is that it gets to the right people all over the world, that my music can make them feel a certain way that’s special to them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve lived in LA my entire life, and there’s definitely a lot of things to do. I like to do hands on activities so we would definitely be doing some type of escape room, or a pottery class. Lots of getting dressed up to go on dinners at night or bars in ktown. A early morning hike or picnic day in manhattan beach. get a bristol farms detox juice after. I also really love to reset in nature so going anywhere that has a lot of trees and mountains and stuff.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I shoutout everyone who is so supportive of me and my craft.
But also to all the artist out there that have inspired me to create and find a passion in music making.
