We had the good fortune of connecting with Deborah Dominguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deborah, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Something about any Creative Industry that is quite and unfairly unknown is the amount of lifetime an artist of any kind must spend to be able to reach a peaceful, stable and spiritual inner state. The bet of pursuing an artistic career takes some courage, serenity and lots of love and passion. What might look as the constant brightest smile and the happiest state of mood, without reason, it actually is a long and tough learning process on how to embrace a daily rejection to grow, rather than to fall, regardless the effort; let’s be crystal clear here: rejection is no other than the most unnatural act for the human mind, soul and spirit to ever accept: definitely opposite and incompatible with the inspiration and strength required by ART and expected from us, artists, constantly, always and forever. This theory automatically disconnects ‘our happiness’ from ‘reasons of any kind’.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What I have developed within my path, that might set me apart from other artists, is probably the rare choice and love for applying my artistic being, linguistic and healing abilities, as a full set within different fields. This multifaceted joy has led me to enforce my performing skills in different languages, cultures and environments helping me doubtlessly to connect with amazing, unexpected projects and wonderful souls that fed my own over the time, no matter the role played. I am immensely proud of all my people’s successes, including the people’s who are not part of my path anymore but were present once, and our constant Universe Guidance, lifting my own, day by day. I am proud of the body, mind, brain, heart, psyche, soul and spirit balance I have achieved… I mean, very proud. Who does not love their Art truly, purely and deeply is crazy to pursue it, –we all know this deep down. I am proud the outer circumstances are not the wheel for my inner success, my perseverance and my human quality but rather, a plus for the growth of it all. I am proud to say I have learned to enjoy every single second of the pros and cons until this present moment of my life. The positives and negatives build this entire difficulty rating 10 puzzle. Lots of meditations, Breathwork, inner courage and a permanent ‘let’s do this again’ mindset are the answers for any success, I firmly believe. I would like to communicate to The World that Industries and societies might try to betray our purpose: ‘our WHY we have ever started this battle.’ Here is my reminder to you: we can not have control over ‘things’ but we do have it over our path, feelings, freedom, growth and well-being: ‘Artist, remember, you are not an Artist for showing your Art, you are an Artist for being it.’ Absolutely no one, nor nothing can or will ever take that away from you and / or your journey; so that, it is on you, and only you, to choose change the World as your very own Art purpose, to never stop teaching, to never stop learning or to choose driving yourself exclusively towards ‘a walk of fame.’ Be wise. No choice is wrong but they are definitely different world-views, we, artists, must take a moment to count on to never lose the focus of what we sacrifice for. Be wise.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
RoadTrip it is! Early breakfast at Fratelli Cafe on Melrose / Wine (s) around Solvang & Santa Barbara / Sequoias Hugs along Yosemite / Nature & Meditation Immersions in The Grand Canyon without missing Sedona / Drive up to San Francisco and down the PCH through Malibu reaching The amazing Mamma D’s in Newport Beach &… we actually might still have some time to drive down to Mexico and to visit the Museum J. Paul Getty back in Los Angeles 🙂 The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I consider myself beyond lucky: I have been supported since Day 1 by the best family, friends and spiritual partners. I have a huge tribe I am grateful for which, I believe, is essential for a process of this kind. There is a name, though: Jaime Love. She is not an agent, she is a warrior. She does not just trust, dedicating her life, on others’ paths as her very own, but she also deeply understands that passion, that love, that frustration, that spirituality, that journey, that fight as a tribe. She is just the strongest and best lead to be next to, regarding not just the professional outcome but most importantly, the inner balance it actually takes. Thank you, truly, to each and every one of you for being.
