We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacqueline Kuykendall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacqueline, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
When you decide to become an entrepreneur, you have to decide at the beginning that you will give all of yourself to be successful. With that comes sacrifice to work more than a typical 40 hours a week, you are HR, marketing, sales, and the CEO.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Real estate is a business that most think is easy after watching home buying shows. But in reality, it takes hard work, skill, and knowledge to help people with the most expensive purchase they may make. I work until the end of the transaction to do what it takes to get it done. If there is a need my clients have whether it’s a lower price, more time in their home, or to have them keep appliances in a new home; I will go after it. I began in real estate 5 years ago with the mindset that I would be showing homes with tons of free time. In reality, you have to create a business and work. I eventually joined a high-producing real estate team and held over 100 open houses, knocked on thousands of doors, and made phone calls to every person I met at an open house or door knocking. That was an incredible learning experience for me that definitely created the work ethic and hustle I need to be in this business. At this time in my business, I am creating my brand and full-service real estate experiences for my clients. I am still sales, the CEO, HR, the cleanup crew, and the fierce negotiator to make sure my client’s needs are met from the beginning of our meeting until well after the transaction.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a dream come true question these days! I would start with site-seeing adventures, I’d take them to Griffith Observatory, The Getty Museum, and a Runyon Canyon hike, RoseBowl Flea Market, Rodeo Drive, and The Getty Villa are just a few of my favorites. The views in Los Angeles are some of my favorite. We’d also have to take a food tour in the city – breakfast at The Pan in Pasadena, Grand Central Market for lunch, drinks at Mama Shelter for roof-top views, and dinner at The Stinking Rose! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Many factors got me to where I am today but most important are my sons who are my main motivation. For them to see their mom working in a business where I can create my success is extremely important. They can see firsthand that hard work pays off and not be afraid to go after anything they want to achieve.
