We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandyn Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandyn, what do you attribute your success to?
Well, I believe success is subjective, I truly feel that the foundation of all of our success has been authenticity. I believe sincerity & being genuine has taken me further than I ever imagined. From every picture taken, every comment made, it truly is me and how I truly feel. It seems like people do things that will get them noticed, or shock value or just trends in general, which is where my love/hate relationship with social media is rooted. I’ve learned that if I just continue to be real, it allows me to be comfortable in my own skin and as a byproduct, it make my brand so relatable. I represent for the normal people of the world!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As fathers of today, we look different, sound different, and move differently than our dads did. It’s been a natural progression due to necessity. Our generation’s dads have evolved into being more involved in our kid’s lives- breaking down stereotypes and claiming our cool in the process. It’s a sign of the times and we’re writing our own story for the future. It’s definitely not easy to get to this place of confidence. It took many failures, challenges & obstacles, but that’s what builds character. The fight makes it all worth it, especially for my company that represents the “normal” everyday person. The world we live in gets more interesting every day. We’re as passionate about expressing ourselves as we are about learning how others are living. Through our different mediums, visually in Pops Production Company, charitably via Pops Purpose Inc., and creatively on The PopsCast podcast, we’re all in! Here’s to getting men involved & leaving a positive legacy through our kids and generations to come.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out every parent (moms & dads) who are making it happen every day. I know my company is more geared towards dads, however, parenting, in general, is a really tough gig. It’s tiringly, a lot of times thankless & a full-blown marathon to raise decent little human beings. Speaking from the modern dad’s perspective, the moniker “Hip Pops” wasn’t coined because of “looking cool,” but to highlight the fact that it is cool to step up as men and be involved fathers, engaged husbands, significant others, and role models. Coolness is an ideology that’s rooted in exuding confidence. This is what the Hip Pops community is all about. Sharing ideas to level up. Becoming comfortable with the many hats we wear. That’s cool.
