We had the good fortune of connecting with Christi McDaniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christi, what makes you happy? Why?
What makes me happy is the joy I bring to people when I assist them in whatever capacity that may be. I am not a person that thrives off of my own success and the things that I have accomplished, but I am a person that thrives off the joy I bring to others. A lot of people in the world we live in have specific agendas and things they want to accomplish for self and that is great, however, when it comes to Christi McDaniel, my thrive and happiness is based on others. Growing up, I was well equipped with the tools and essentials I needed to make it in my childhood life. Knowing that there is always someone out there that may need help but could possibly be missing the proper guidance, tools, as well as knowing where to start is what makes me thrive off of assisting others. Other things that make me happy is the genuine heart that I have embodied from the love and compassion that my Grandparents and Aunt have instilled in me.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is the drive I have no matter how many personal or business circumstances I have faced. There are so many things that I have been through within this life that goes unsaid however, determination, perseverance, and never giving up is in my blood and something I could never do. I am not afraid to ask for help, ask questions, complete research, and do what it takes to obtain the success that is near and dear to my heart no matter how long it may take. I reached this level of success today by working hard, never quitting, and praying. Prayer gets me through a lot of things as well as speaking positively. I try my hardest not to speak negatively about myself. Sometimes I fall short, and sometimes I do just fine with my positive motivation for myself and others. I have so much more growth and so many more things I have to as well as need to accomplish and it is not easy. There are times that I wake up and something goes wrong either via email, at an event, or even through a phone call and I just want to give up. But then I have to say to myself, I am here not only for myself but to influence so many others. I overcome the challenges by continuing down the path and learning from the challenges. The lessons I have learned along the way are to have discernment when moving any pieces and elevating my businesses, not being afraid to ask for help because sometimes it takes a team and village to obtain the results that a business fully needs, and lastly, do not give up. This is repetitive in my story because of the many times I have cried, yelled, and screamed to give up but something or someone always shows up in my life to show me that is not the way to go. I want the world to know that you don’t have to face adversity while growing up to have an amazing brand or story. You can go through the normal trials and tribulations that anyone else may go through and still have an amazing story to share. There is always someone watching and something that can resonate with an individual that you may not be aware of so continue the work and leave behind an amazing mark for others to see. It doesn’t have to be in the form of a business, a house, or an actual legacy, but it can be in the form of knowing you were an amazing citizen of society by the characteristics you embodied within yourself.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
If my best friend was visiting and I am hoping she loves seafood, we would first go eat at Rock N Fish in Manhattan Beach, then go and get some great massages at Massage Envy, and finally get manicures and pedicures. This is Day 1. Day 2 we are hoping it is nice outside so that we can go bike riding or go on a good hike at Runyon Canyon or another amazing hiking trail. Grocery shopping would take place so that we do not have to eat out all week and make some great tacos or vegan tacos depending on if she/he eats meat. Day 3 we are going to do some hanging with family. Hanging out with my sisters, aunts, and cousins and have some good family time/game day/nights. Day 4 Movies are always great so we can catch a movie and do whatever my best friend wants to do. This is Calfornia, I am sure there are some Cali things she/he wants to see. Day 5 We are hitting the beach for a fun beach day Day 6 We are having lunch somewhere of she/he’s choice and then going to enjoy the Hollywood night life. Maybe a comedy club, bar. lounge, club, etc. Day 7 I am sure she is on her way out so we will have an amazing breakfast at a great brunch spot with a great view and say our goodbyes.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to My heavenly Grandparents Robert and Christine Carter and my amazing Aunt Penny Nesbit who is still here. Without these three individuals, I cannot say where my life would be today. They have instilled core values in me, taught me how to respect myself and others, how to be proud of myself, and best of all, never to give up. It is so easy to give up when things seem to not work out in our favor but that is the exact thing that needs to keep us going. Life is not always easy and sometimes what is meant for us doesn’t come as easy as it does for others but all that means is we work a little harder. I thank God for these 3 individuals more than I can mention on any piece of paper or in any article.
