Do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?

We asked folks to tell us about their favorite quote or affirmation and to tell us what it means to them. We’ve shared some of those responses below.

There’s a line in the song 17 by Youth Lagoon that goes, “When I was 17, my mother said to me, don’t stop imagining. The day that you do is the day that you die.” For me simplicity hits harder which is why I love this part. As a teenager, it was one of my favorite songs, but I didn’t actually hear/listen to the words until I was older. Read More>>

Yeah, I do, actually: We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams – this is the opening line from the poem “Ode” by Arthur O’Shaughnessy. I used to always think it was a Willy Wonka quote because I was a big fan of the movie WIlly Wonka & The Chocolate Factory but the originator of that quote was O’Shaughnessy. Read More>>

My favorite affirmation is “Root Down to Rise Up.” This phrase has been a guiding light for me for over a decade, ever since I began teaching yoga and meditation. It’s more than just words—it’s a way of being that I carry with me, both on and off the yoga mat, in my work as a therapist, and as a branding consultant. Read More>>

My favorite quote is “Live every day like it’s your last.” I like it because, sometimes, I have a tendency to procrastinate and take the ordinary moments for granted. Life is unpredictable, filled with surprises, and things can change suddenly and dramatically. Embracing this quote means striving to make the most out of each day. I say affirmations every day, but one quote always stuck with me. It’s the quote that I recite when I’m feeling unsure or fearful about a next step. The quote is, “If you want to take the island burn the boats”. As soon as I heard it, it stuck with me because it’s so visual. What this quote means to me is, if you want something, go ALL THE WAY with it. Dont half-ass anything. Read More>>

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it’s the courage to continue that counts.” Winston Churchill might have said that first, and he wasn’t talking about making movies, but where I first saw it was on a Tom Cruise meme, so whether he actually said it or not, I hear it in his inspiring voice and it is about making movies. It’s so hard to choose one, I love quotes. So I’ll leave you with my top two favorites.
My first one:
“I’m never the first one to pull away from a hug because I don’t know how much that person needs it” -Taylor Swift. Read More>>

My favorite quote is “Thoughts become things. If you see it in your mind, you will hold it in your hand.”- Bob Proctor
This quote sums up much of my life experiences. I’ve come to understand that everything begins with an idea. As a child, I always dreamed big and somehow knew those dreams would come to life. I realized that the things I thought about often started to happen, so even as an adult, I continue to use my imagination to create. Read More>>
