One of the most rewarding things about getting to know so many entrepreneurs is seeing first-hand how many of them are focused on so much more than just financial results. So many of the folks we connect with are focused on having a positive social impact on their community or the world at large. Check out some of these amazing folks below.

Peter Shiao | Founder, Creator & CEO

In an immensely media driven world I believe that any time a “content” producer consciously makes choices for the express benefit of their audience, however that is defined, it is an act of positive social impact. My company, Immortal Studios, recognizes that story, ideas, images and characters shape our perceptions and realities either positively or negatively. Telling stories that awaken the heroes of everyone and then empowering them to heed their inner voices, is the impact we want to have on the world. If it happens that our stories have legs – then the impact can happen on global scale. Also, as a company that is focused on the genre of Wuxia (martial arts-fantasy), that is natively Chinese, another contribution that is important to us is the representation and inclusion of Asian culture and faces to global culture and discourse. Tim Hanaseth | Executive Producer & Production Company Owner

I started Hanaseth Media as a tribute to my father who passed away from Cancer, he took photos as a hobby for nostalgia racing on weekends after working long days as an electrician. I took for granted my time with him reviewing all 500+ photos from his weekend getaways taking 35mm stills he was great at it, had an eye for finding the shots that I quickly realized I got from him. There was no actual thought process behind creating Hanaseth Media I work a 9-5 job in the movie industry and thought to myself that it would be a good idea to develop a small production company to help build up businesses, social media and digital content. Anna Storm | Social Media Influencer & Pop Artist

My brand of Anna Storm helps to empower others to be confident and love themselves! My motto and hashtag, #slaylife, is a catchy phrase that encourages people to believe that they can achieve anything they want to, to go for their dreams and just kill their goals 365 24/7. I hope that by sharing my story of how I overcame bullying to flourish in confidence, that I can inspire others to develop the courage to transform themselves as well. I really want to challenge people to be fearlessly themselves, despite what the majority may think— to build people up and uplift them to be the very best that they can be!. Read more>>

Caroline PM Jones | Painter, Sculptor, Memorialist

The precepts of my business are Fine Art Memorials, land conservation and Digital Immortality. Digital & Stone’s vision is to connect the souls of both the living and the dead, through preserving the memory not the body. The Fine Art Memorials connect artists, and artistic and historic principals to our ancestors, and to those we love. Ive recently been reading and looking at Carl Jung’s writings and art work and to him all art was religious expression. The word religion comes from the latin Religaris – to reconnect. It is my intention that through artistic memorials we can help the community and our fellow man through grief, and misunderstanding by connecting to the continuity of life beyond birth and death. As Buckminster Fuller says, ” You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete”. The time for preserving the land is now, the time for environmentally friendly and sustainable practices is now. Read more>>

Jadea Kelly | Canadian Songwriter / Performing Artist

Music has the ability to lift and create impactful reflection and change. I haven’t moved mountains, but I like to think that my music provides calm for my listeners, especially this past year as we attempt to balance our daily isolation / quarantine. I personally pursue music for the obvious joy it provides, but also as a way to absorb and understand the world around me. I like to think that it does the same for those listening. I also use my social media platform to bring attention to environmental degradation, land stewardship, composting and even ways to push a green agenda through elected officials. Read more>>

SU MI LEE | Fashion Designer & YouTuber of ” Sumidea lA”

I have worked as a fashion designer in the LA fashion district for 20 years. I have worked hard for my career and paycheck. Frankly, my job was far from helping the world. When I started my YouTube channel “Sumidea LA”, I made this channel to help me financially. A couple of months after I started my YouTube channel, the pandemic spread to the world. At this time, it was hard to get masks to protect ourselves from COVID-19. At this time, I searched for videos on how to easily make DIY masks for my family, but most videos took too much time to pattern and sew. Finally, I got the idea for an easy way to make masks when I looked at old leggings. After uploading this video, I’ve received many “Thank you” comments on my YouTube channel from many different countries. I was able to communicate with them through Google Translate. I shared not only information about masks, but I also shared comforts. Read more>>

Jared Hendler | Artist

I am an artist. I think about how my work might have an impact. My portraiture documents those influencing our society and culture. My current body of work is largely focused on communities who are marginalized, unrecognized or misrepresented. The work is also a statement on censorship within media. How technology has given unprecedented power and opportunity to individuals; enabling them to reach large audiences directly. Through portraiture, I document those influencing society through online culture. Read more>>
