We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Fraley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought behind starting my business was to impact families and children in a positive way. I saw a need for a more individualized way to educate children and teach to their needs. In a perfect world, we want the best for our children and through classes at Kinder Ready we are able to develop an interest based curriculum to promote the power of learning.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Kinder Ready provides one on one private classes, online learning, and special events for children 3-12. Our program is customizable to meet the needs of your child. Our program prides itself in providing a wide variety of learning tools and manipulatives across several themes to keep young learners engaged! Kinder Ready does an amazing job keeping parents up to date on their children’s progress and give feedback on strengths and areas to further develop. To get to where I am professionally, I completed a graduate program in early childhood education to better understand the needs and development of young children. I’ve worked in a variety of educational settings to further my understanding and skills. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to not waste time. Have a plan each day and try to accomplish 1-2 goals a day! Also get to bed early!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this question! We are so lucky being here in sunny Southern California. There are so many amazing places! Where do I even begin! I would definitely take them to the Broad Museum. I am a big fan of modern art and Yahoo Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room. There are so many amazing pieces that will wow you at The Broad! I would also recommend a stroll down Montana Ave. in Santa Monica to check out all of the great local businesses. One of my favorite coffee shops on Montana is Primo Passo. I would also highly recommend Ollo in Malibu for lunch or brunch and time on the beach. Also in Topanga, I would take them on a hike through Tuna Canyon Park, you will love the amazing views of the San Gabriel mountains and the ocean.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to say one of my favorite college professors, Dr. Keith Allred. I really enjoyed one of his courses on Educational Philosophies where I learned more about Waldorf, Bank Street, Reggio Emilia among other educational approaches. One of our course assignments was to design a preschool/learning center, through this assignment I was able to explore into the future. I feel that this past assignment alone has shaped my experience in a proactive and positive way.
