We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesse Golden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jesse, what do you attribute your success to?
Authenticity. The Golden Secrets was an accidental business. I had a blog for years that I used as a platform to share free wisdom in yoga, holistic health, beauty, parenting, spirituality and so on. Only after years of people asking me what products I was using on my skin, did I decide to start bottling the products I had been making for myself for years and share it with my readers. These are products that I developed for myself and had personally worn for years and owed my skin compliments to. I believe the success is owed to the authenticity behind my brand and message that has always been even prior to having a physical product. The fact that the products I now share are still handcrafted by me and are the only ones I’v’e used for years are testament to the efficacy and purity of them. There are so many celebrities and name brand companies that have nothing to do with the actual formulations and process of creating excellent skincare, let alone having used them at all. Yet they slap a label on it, hire a public figure, put a ton of money into marketing and voila, it’s stated in Vogue as the new it, must have product! I have never paid for any advertising at all. All my success is due to the product itself and happy customers sharing.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Golden Secrets is a wholistic, organic skincare that unveils a youthful, golden glow. Our company story, which I shared in the prior question is really what sets us a part. I only started bottling my handcrafted products after years of people demanding it. Their was a need for organic skincare that worked! All my products are based on ancient formulas that have stood the test of time. Plus each product comes with an affirmation card with specific affirmations pertaining to that product, to help instill the change from within. The product becomes the tool to practice daily rituals of self-love. This is an unstoppable combo that creates everlasting change and long lasting results. Starting and running a company is never easy. It takes hard work and dedication every step of the way but when the company is an extension of who you are and you authentically live and believe in the mission, it becomes a lot easier.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Well I live in Venice Beach so I’m definitely biased about the beach being the best place to visit and live. And to be honest with you, I really don’t ever leave the beach unless it’s to go to one of my favorite vegan, Mexican restaurants that I am an investor in called Sugar Taco! So that would definitely be on my list. Other than that we would go to local Venice spots and do home dinners, which is my favorite.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a HUGE shoutout to my loyal friends and followers on my social platforms. I have always used my social platforms as a way of communicating and sharing my golden secrets with them. This has been my main source of getting the word out about my company, The Golden Secrets. I owe their unwavering support to my success. Every follow, every like, every comment and of course every purchase to support my mission of empowering everyone (esp woman) to lead healthy positive lives through organic beauty, mindfulness, self-love, nature and supportive daily rituals.
