Meet Aaron J. Anderson | Actor, Artist, Son

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron J. Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron J., where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Houston, Tx and it’s impacted me in every way. It’s helped shape my morals and foundation. It’s given me my swag and confidence, and Texas as a state offers you this grounded feeling. Most of us from that state really know who we are and have a strong sense of community and self.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from others is truly just being self aware. I’m aware that I lack and that there is space for me to grow, which in turn leaves room for me to be inspired by others. But I also know that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. My uniqueness comes from God. I started acting when I was 18/19 years old, and I’ve had some many family members support me and push me along the way. I just graduated with my MFA in acting from Columbia University and I know that’s only because of God and the people who believed in me. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is “eyes on your own road” and to persevere. My brand is more so I am who God says I am. Trusting and believing I have a person and having full faith in Jesus and fulfilling my mission. My dreams and goals. God puts these desires on my heart so I gotta go get it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Long Beach because I grew up there with family as well, but I would take them to Laguna Beach…. Then take them to Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes. You also can’t go wrong with a nice taco truck in LA

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shoutout to my mother. The woman who took me to church. Who sacrificed jobs and money just so she could be there to raise me. She listens and cares and allows me to be open and vulnerable. There’s nothing I cant tell my mother. She’s truly a blessing from God. I know love through my mother and I’m so thankful for her.
