We had the good fortune of connecting with Adeleh Yarmohammadi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adeleh, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
One piece of conventional advice that I respectfully disagree with is “follow your passion blindly.” While it’s important to be passionate about what you do, blindly adhering to this advice can sometimes lead to impractical decisions. Passion is a wonderful driving force, but it should be tempered with a healthy dose of realism and strategic thinking.
Instead of solely relying on passion, I believe in the concept of “aligning your passion with purpose.” This means finding a balance between what you’re passionate about and what the world needs or values. It’s about understanding how your passions can contribute to meaningful and sustainable paths, while also considering your skills, market demand, and the potential for growth.
Blindly pursuing a passion without considering the broader context can sometimes lead to frustration, burnout, and financial instability. By combining your passion with a purpose-driven approach, you can create a more well-rounded and fulfilling life that not only satisfies your inner desires but also contributes positively to the world around you.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an eye surgeon driven by a unique mission—to harmoniously unite my dual passions for art and medicine. My affinity for art blossomed at the tender age of 8, when I first delved into painting. As I matured, my artistic journey led me to curate numerous exhibitions and charitable events, proudly displaying my creations. Concurrently, my unyielding desire to aid others kindled my path into medical school. In the realm of medicine, I found a profound way to channel my innate passion for helping people, ultimately culminating in my role as an eye surgeon. My journey weaves together the intricate threads of creativity and healing, allowing me to make a difference both on the canvas and in the operating room.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Certainly, when showing my best friend around Los Angeles for a week, I’d aim to provide a well-rounded experience that captures the city’s diverse essence. We’d explore iconic beaches like Santa Monica and Malibu, embark on scenic hikes such as Griffith Park, and immerse ourselves in cultural gems like museums and art districts. Indulging in the city’s rich culinary scene, from beachfront food to eclectic neighborhoods, would be a must. A visit to Hollywood’s landmarks, Universal Studios for thrilling adventures, and evenings of entertainment at music venues and bars would round out the adventure. Ultimately, the goal would be to showcase the vibrant mix of art, nature, culture, and excitement that Los Angeles has to offer.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Certainly, my shoutout is dedicated to the inspiring mentors who have guided and supported me throughout my career. Their invaluable wisdom and encouragement have been instrumental in my journey towards success. I also extend recognition to all mentors worldwide for their selfless commitment to shaping futures and fostering growth.
