Meet Aden LaLonde | A music duo called LALONDE consisting of Aden and Deven LaLonde

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aden LaLonde and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aden, why did you pursue a creative career?
We started playing and writing music together because we both perceived it as an incredibly convenient way to stay in touch with our creative capabilities. Creating music, in our opinion, is similar to doing a puzzle. There are so many elements of which to take control, and it requires a delicate skill to be able to identify these elements and fit them together to creative something beautiful and whole. It kept our brains active in ways that, for us, weren’t comparable to hobbies such as watching TV or playing video games, and as brothers, music helped maintain the strong relationship we have. After a few years of developing our craft, we found a passion for wanting to spread the effects that music had on us to the greater public. In our art, we aspire to influence the listener both on a physical and mental level. Although we do not identify with a specific genre of music, we both understand the relationship between music and movement, and want to be responsible for providing a healthy outlet for listeners to move their body and mind.

What should our readers know about your business?
Since we are brothers that come from an Indian and Arabic background, a lot of the music that we take inspiration from is foreign to most of the popular music and entertainment in the United States. However, we strive to bring light to our culture and incorporate a distinct and innovative sound into the industry. It was always difficult for us to find role models in the Entertainment/Music industry who shared or showcased aspects of our culture. Thus, it is one of our many goals to inspire listeners of our culture and others who are underrepresented in the media to find the beauty in their background and present it to the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I (Aden), live in Miami, however Deven lives in Nashville. Both are extremely exciting and entertaining cities to visit and try new things. In Miami, the beaches are incredible and provide an easy way to relax and release from stress. Key West is peaceful and it is one of my favorite locations in Miami. Nashville is known for its live music scene. Almost every restaurant and/or bar has a band playing in it, so entertainment is always a convenience. Broadway is a long strip which contains tens of amazing restaurants, clubs and bars that really showcase the energetic scene in Nashville.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thank you endlessly to our parents for supporting our choices and interests. They are the most inspiring people in our lives, and even though they never had interests in music, they never fail to show us such necessary tools and lessons to make use of within our pursuits. We are so lucky and realize how rare it is to have parents that approve of careers in the music industry, and will never cease to try and make them proud of all they have taught us.
