We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrian Per and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrian, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I strongly believe that my work ethic is the most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand. A lot of people think it’s having talent. Everybody has talent but not everybody has the discipline, mentality, and grit on top of it to get where you want to be. Over the years I’ve mastered being able to meet deadlines, be a people person, create habits, and set daily goals. It’s really about the small things in your routine that will make you successful.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The journey to get where I am today wasn’t easy. I never wanted to be in a place where I’m comfortable because I knew that’s how I was going to grow in my personal life and career. I wanted to be put into uncomfortable and challenging situations. I had to work hard, stay up late, wake up early, have time management, and display proper business etiquette to clients, partners, and crew members. I really had to be dedicated to be the best version of myself in my craft. I’m always striving to be better and am the most proud of how versatile I am being a director, production company co-owner, DJ, and investor while also being a good friend.

There’s really opportunity to make something out of yourself in the world if you really want it and put the work ethic behind it. Don’t be afraid to fail, challenge yourself, and learn from those mistakes.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I’m not directing, I enjoy going to places where I’ve never been before with people I don’t know. It gives me a chance to exchange views, beliefs, and learn about other cultures.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There were a few directors who I looked up to in order to set a standard of where I want to be at in the future in my career. However, I didn’t have one who was directly my mentor along my journey. Instead I was actually surrounded around a lot of people who believed in me and was the best support system. My mom was one of them. Although I was a bad student, she always knew that I had an artistic kind of expression. She had a lot of faith in me and told me that whatever I am going to do is what I’m going to be successful at it. I wouldn’t be where I am today if nobody believed in me.
