We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia Blas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alicia, what do you attribute your success to?
I feel like what put me in the direction of a successful entrepreneur was when I changed the definition of success for myself! I work the hardest on things that I love the most. Raising my boys (ages 27 and 25), building gardens for people that fit their vibe and life style. Creating friendships that are real and connected. Always knowing that the Universe has my back. Knowing almost every single plant that works in zone 9 (LA,CA) and always trying to be a bit better tomorrow then I was yesterday! These are all things that fall under the “definition of success.”
I am all about an indoor-outdoor life style and that is exactly what I create and like to live myself. I have learned that the older I get the more I live the life that I am able to create for others (incorporating beauty, nature, flow and love to every single thing that I am able to)
The more I feel connected to what I am doing the better I am at doing it. I am practicing living a very “rich and successful” life by truly doing the things I love to do and blessed with being able to create what I love to create! In a word- SELF LOVE!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My creativity is all about plants, color, flow and vibe. When you feel good- you are good. I learned from a young age- that it does not matter what is going on around you- If it looks beautiful, and feels beautiful to you- it will all be ok! I may know a lot more now then I did then BUT this adage is pretty much spot on! Life is challenging but when we can figure out how to use beautiful little shortcuts- all along the way can feel so good! That is when we are truly practicing creativity, Nature is the very best medicine ever and I was gifted with knowing just how to create this prescription!
One of the most important things about being a “gardenologist” is knowing the secret of “right plant-right place” and being able to feel color! I believe this “cocktail of goodness” can bring love to any and all who care to partake! I know how to get us there- you just need to be open enough to let go and let me take you! (the secret to being Firmly Planted)

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am going to start this part with my biggest shout out= finally- (50 years later) to myself! I finally figured out that most of the reason someone becomes a successful person (mom, friend, business woman, student, teacher) Is because they figure out their own worth! I am truly beginning to understand my amazing gifts and just where I shine! I am seeing myself in a light that feels strong, focused, connected and a real “bad-ass” bright. In a word- self-love! I do not believe a person can be successful without “self-love”! Even if you make a load of dough but you do not believe your self worth or trust that you are just where you are supposed to be- there is NO success there-what so ever!
It is all about walking, talking and feeling what you create and live. When you have this kind of “success” the other kind just shows up! I am beyond rich and successful with love, relationships and connections- I know the money will follow!
(even knowing that makes you a success).
