We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison Sellers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allison, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want people to remember my heart. I want them to know that to me, it was always more than just taking their picture. I want to connect, get to know each other, make their experiences with me memorable and have them walk away with a smile on their face.

I care so much, maybe too much at times.

I’m a wife, a mother, and a business woman. I’m deeply passionate about each of those jobs.

If you’re with me, you will always feel cared for, seen, and validated.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel like my art tells a story, you can look at the photos I’ve taken and you can see genuine expressions and you can scroll through and it would feel like you’re reading a book.

It was not easy to get into my business, I’ve wanted to be a professional photographer for so long. After a divorce and getting remarried, I was finally able to explore my passion. My now husband, Robert bought me my first professional camera after I was struggling with postpartum depression. I felt like I didn’t know who I was anymore. He told me, “Here’s a camera, go do what you love.” I’m thankful everyday for him.

Lessons I’ve learned along the way in my business is not everyone is your friend.

What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is that this is only the beginning!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them for a little roadtrip to San Diego, we would eat at my favorite restaurant there (Cafe Cayote). Then we would go watch the sunset on the beach!

A couple days later, we would come back and finish off the trip at Disneyland! Have churros, people watch, shop, and ride rides!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shout out to my brother Ryan, who passed away many years ago. He’s the reason why preserving memories is so important to me. I also want to give a shoutout to my husband Robert, who is my rock and biggest supporter.
