We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyne Da Silva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alyne, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is my dedication to provide exceptional services to every client who walks through the front door. I’m constantly researching new treatments and products, following the latest trends, taking many continuing education classes to further advance my knowledge in the ever growing and ever changing beauty industry.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I opened my business, Skin Care by Alyne, my mission was to offer a safe and welcoming place where clients can walk out feeling confident, refreshed and relaxed. I don’t just offer facials and waxing, I offer an experience! Every facial treatment is inclusive of a neck and shoulder massage and every wax is gently performed. Why? Because comfort is key to accomplishing my brand’s mission.
My dream was to have opened my business many years ago, but funny enough, I’m glad I was only able to accomplish it when I did. The pandemic was the hardest challenge for my brand. In 2020 I moved from Boston, MA to Los Angeles, CA with 3 years of experience as an esthetician but no clientele and no connections with other estheticians. So I started over. Now, I look back and can say the challenge life threw at me was necessary for my growth and success because through these past 3 years, I was able to broaden my knowledge not only in esthetics but also in business ownership by working closely with my managers. One of the biggest lessons I learned in all of this is to have patience. I’m a firm believer that things happen just as they should, when they should.
I want the world to know that my brand represents more than just a business. It embodies a passion for wellness along with authenticity and integrity. It’s about creating a haven where every individual is valued and welcomed with warmth and genuine care. It’s about crafting unforgettable experiences that uplift and rejuvenate. It’s about creating meaningful connections with clients and making a positive impact in their well-being.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them for a drive along the pacific coast! The ocean is a beautiful place to catch some sun, feel the sea breeze and recharge. I’d also take them sight seeing for all that Los Angeles has to offer including a few museums because I think they’re so fun and theres so many to chose from. Spending quality time with friends warms my heart, so simply being able to spend a day together by the water, drinking coffee, eating delicious food and chit-chatting is truly all that I could ask for.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, my family! Without their love, support and encouragement I don’t believe I’d be where I am. Both of my parents are entrepreneurs and business owners themselves, so it’s such a comforting and reassuring feeling to have them to lean on for support when I need it. Being an esthetician for 6 years, I’ve crossed paths with so many amazing like-minded women and I am so thankful for the mentors, coworkers, bosses and managers I’ve had the pleasure to not only work with but learn from. I owe my success to those who believed in me before I even began to believe in myself.
