We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyson Fox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alyson, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe dedication, experience, and passion have been pivotal to my success thus far. I started my company over 25 years ago and absolutely love what I do. I am able to create memorable celebrations for my clients at the most exciting times of their lives.
Throughout the years I’ve learned so much from the planning and execution of each event. Every celebration brings new insight, and I am able to apply it going forward, which helps to make me more successful overall.
I have a quality over quantity mentality and give my all to my clients. By taking on fewer events and not overloading my calendar, I am able to focus all of my time and energy on the design and details. Time and time again, I have been lucky to create beautiful, unique, captivating and fantastic moments that last a lifetime.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Owning a boutique event design and planning company sounds fun and exciting, but it is a lot of work. Clients deserve special attention when planning their milestone occassions; birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, weddings and more. I pour my heart and soul into every detail and spend each moment thinking about how to execute the best outcome. I give individualized attention to each client because relationships are everything. My clients trust me and it’s most important that I deliver their dreams and wishes in perfect form.
It has not been an easy road, but 25 years of hard work and dedication got me to where I am today. I can only hope that my company continues to grow as I do with each event that comes my way.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some can’t miss spots in LA on my must see list are Nobu Malibu for the best sushi with a view, The Ivy on Roberston for the best gimlet and crabcakes, Marvin on Beverly for a fun crowd and delicious eats and don’t forget to stop by after dinner at The Polo Lounge for the best souffle in town
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without my mom, who started the company with me 25 years ago. She had been in the industry before we joined forces and I learned so much from her expertise and support. She has since retired but continues to be my greatest cheerleader and I am so grateful.
Keeping it all in the family, I wouldn’t be successful without the love, acceptance and kindness of my daughter. It’s not easy being a solo mom, raising a daughter with a full-time career, but no one has been in my corner rooting for my success more than she. I have missed so many special moments in her life due to work, but my strong work ethic has rubbed off, and now that she has graduated college, I am watching her thrive with that same spirit.
