We had the good fortune of connecting with Amarachi Odinma-Maduka and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amarachi, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
From the time I could remember I’ve always had creative Arts in my heart. I have a blockbuster tape from when I was around 5 years old talking about being on Tv.

As I got older, I learned making a creative career takes more than just dreaming. It takes hard work, persistence, action and education.
After switching gears from Nursing in college, I chose coursework that would align me with my creative career vision.

I studied Journalism w/ a minor in Film, even though i knew those jobs are scarce and never guaranteed.

I moved to Los Angeles with two suitcases and a dream 8 years ago and haven’t looked back since.I’ve been working and hustling as a creative! Praise God!

Now look at me speaking w/ Shoutout LA 🙂

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Today, I’m a plus- size model! I should of started sooner. Haha.  I recently wrapped a plus-model TV show called “Thickhouse” produced by Facebook Watch for The Shaderoom. Made Top 3 to my elated delight!

I still work as a freelance Tv/Radio host – I’m most proud of my accomplishments as a creative in Hollywood. From co-hosting my own radio/tv for show for a major network to hosting celebrity red carpets pre-covid.

Currently, i host a podcast- “ ChitChatz w/ Amarachi” available on all podcast outlets and growing daily.

Lessons I’ve learned along the way – Always follow up, be consistent and Always complete the project.
So many times we stop and quit too easy before we see the vision come to fruition .

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I’d take them to Malibu beach- NOBU, Santa Monica, Rodeo Drive to window shop , The Cheescake Factory lol and The Comedy Store on Sunset!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I would like to Shoutout my mother, Grace Odinma, for teaching me the value of hardwork, hustle and grind! I know it sounds cliche- but my mother was a Nigerian immigrant and a divorced, single mother of four. Her efforts and prayers have shaped many of my current mindsets that have helped me progress as a creative.  My toddler sons Judah and Cyrus have taught me discipline.
