We had the good fortune of connecting with Anaïs Chabane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

What was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I opened my first tattoo shop at the age of 21 (12 years ago) in the south of France before coming to settle here in Los Angeles. I don’t remember thinking too much about it, I was just excited at the idea of knowing that I was going to be able to do something that I love.

What should our readers know about your work?
My tattoo style is a style that I created myself more than 10 years ago, it’s a direct inspiration between my Arabic origins and my travels in India. Over the years my ornaments have evolved but the visual identity always remains the same. I like delicate things and the ornamental is what I always wanted to do, I like to adorn women’s bodies with pretty permanent jewelry.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the grove, it’s a place I love to bring my friends when they visit me, we eat really well there and I love hanging out at the Farmer’s market in the late morning also my favorite time of the year is when they put up the Christmas decorations : magical

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely my husband who is an incredible artist who deserves more visibility, he started by making himself known with Pop Culture works & now he would like to focus on creating his own character early 2025 his Instagram is @starky_grzesiak.
