We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrey Tarasov and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrey, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I felt growing up that our time in this life is too finite to not follow what I love to do. I also wanted to feel creatively inspired and didn’t want to follow a boring career path.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At 8 years old I had grabbed a skateboard and fell in love with the lifestyle after playing some of the Tony Hawk video games. Skateboarding has showed me the world in a different light leading me to creative endeavors such as getting to travel and skate in different parts of the world, working in modeling and wanting to learn about photography. To answer if it’s easy I would not say skateboarding or perusing a creative career is not necessarily easy but I believe perusing a career that I am happy and interested in is the most important part for my mantra to work and life. I’m always learning new things and lessons from skateboarding and my other work.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some places I really enjoy in LA are my buddies store of • Kingswell Skate shop in LA •Finding beautiful hikes around Grifth park •Stories Cafe and book store is charming •Cruising down towards Malibu beaches. •Finding beautiful routes especially In the mountains Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First of all I’d like thank my family. Moving to LA , I’d like to thank my close buddy and pro skateboarder Patrick Melcher who brought me under his wing with skateboarding and pushing me to follow my career choice. Secondly, I’d like to thank my buddy and photographer Josh Warner who pushes me in the right direction and has taught me a grand amount in all aspects of life. The Skateboarding community and creative community are incredible worlds to be a part of. Other things I have gratitude for are – Kingswell Skate shop Imperial Motion Clothing Stereo Skateboards But this question is tricky for me as I have much love for the friends that are close to me and incredible people I get to work and create with. I’m thankful for the amazing people in my life really who help me.
