We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
Growing up in Baltimore City’s Westport projects, I witnessed my stepfather’s brutal abuse of my mother. The trauma I experienced was compounded when I became a victim of child abuse myself. By 15, I felt mentally and emotionally ravaged.

The scars of my upbringing led me down a similar path of abuse and self-destruction. However, a profound spiritual awakening transformed my life. I discovered my purpose: to help others who’ve suffered physical, mental, emotional, sexual, and psychological abuse.

Today, I’m dedicated to giving back internationally, supporting those who’ve endured trauma and pain. My journey has shown me that healing is possible, and I’m committed to helping others find their path to wholeness.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart is my fearless approach to facilitating conflict resolution in prisons, including those in Nigeria and the state of Maryland. Witnessing the injustices in Nigerian prisons, where many inmates have languished for 10 to 20 years without representation, has fueled my passion.

Unlike many authors, speakers, or thought leaders, I’ve confronted my fears head on, driven by my upbringing and resolve.

What I’m most proud and excited about is my autobiography, ‘Restoration: Revolving Doors.’ This self published book has been a lifesaver for many, offering a raw and unfiltered look at my journey.

From being incarcerated behind bars to being trapped in a prison of the mind, I share my experiences with generational curses, drug dealing, heroin, and alcohol addictions. This gut-wrenching, vivid page-turner is unlike any other story.

I’m thrilled to announce that ‘Restoration: Revolving Doors’ has sold over 10,000 copies internationally and has been featured on Goodreads. This response is a testament to the book’s impact and resonance with readers worldwide.

What sparked my entrepreneurial journey was becoming an author and international speaker/presenter. I leveraged my experiences, gifts, talents, and abilities to start making a profit through volunteering.

My journey is not without its challenges. Daily, I’m confronted with the haunting pain and desperation in the eyes of those trapped in the cycles of the prison system, past trauma, mental health struggles, domestic violence, drug addiction, and homelessness.

Overcoming the daily struggles of witnessing suffering and illicit lifestyles is made possible through my unwavering faith. I believe that if I can transform my life, others can too. There’s hope for the hopeless.

I’ve faced doubt and discouragement, even from my own mother, who thought I’d never make it. But I’ve learned that as long as someone has breath in their body, they possess the power to make a life changing decision. This inner strength can propel them toward a better life.

Along my journey, I’ve learned invaluable lessons: believe in myself, take ownership of my work, and prioritize my well being. Unfortunately, experiences with betrayal by family and close friends have taught me to be cautious. I’ve come to realize that envy and jealousy can be destructive forces, and the evil eye is indeed real.

Not everyone will celebrate my kindness, respect for humanity, or the help I offer. I’ve learned to be discerning about who I share my journey with. While I’m passionate about helping others, I recognize that some individuals may envy the support I provide. These lessons have shaped me into a stronger, wiser person.

Another difficult truth I’ve come to accept is that not everyone will forget or forgive my past mistakes. No matter how hard I’ve worked to grow and learn from those experiences, some people will continue to define me by my past. This has taught me to focus on my own healing and redemption, rather than seeking validation from others.

I’m passionate about sharing my personal story to inspire and empower individuals globally. Through book sales, I fund humanitarian projects, providing essential resources like clean water, education, and healthcare to marginalized communities worldwide.

My charitable efforts focus on:

· Building a recovery center for Los Angeles youth
· Establishing better hospitals in Africa

I’m seeking sponsors who believe in my mission and are willing to support my charity. Your contribution will significantly impact the lives of those in need.

Together, let’s make a difference!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to my three incredible daughters: Lakia (37), Malina (21), and Maranda (19). Their unwavering love, compassion, and encouragement have been my driving force, especially during the darkest moments.

As someone who struggles with mental health due to past trauma, there have been times when I felt like giving up. However, my daughters’ support and forgiveness have been a constant source of strength. Despite my mistakes as a parent, they’ve never given up on me.

I’m particularly grateful to my youngest, Maranda, who takes exceptional care of me. Her listening ear and non-judgmental attitude have been a safe haven for me. I can confide in her for hours, and she never tires of helping me navigate life’s challenges.

To my daughters, I want you to know that I love you all with every fiber of my being. Your resilience, respect, and kindness honor me, and I have no doubt that you’ll excel in life. Thank you for being my rocks, my motivation, and my everything.
