Meet Anthony Ocegueda | Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Ocegueda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthony, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My brother has always been in the street wear fashion scene and has always inspired me. Showing me brands like blvck scvle, born x raised, and mishka. I feel in love of clothes because of my brother. I pursue myself to be a big fashion name, in my own Cali style. I always love dressing myself in my style and in the clothing brands I like. I always thought about modeling just didn’t know how to come about it. I’m just getting started and i hope it takes over my life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The biggest lesson I learned is that I am a way different person, from what I was 4-5 years ago. I’m still young I have many more lessons to come. The lifestyle I lived before though, is not a lifestyle many would live or relate too.
I was a gang member or part of a gang/clique. I left that life, I wasn’t scared of it. I just knew I wanted and needed better. I’m not different from others that done that before me. I am who I am, I don’t regret the past. I admire it actually, so I could look back and just think. How am I here? I’m a man who grew up in east south central and east Lancaster two places that are not that safe of a place to be. You make what you do and get in those parts, That’s what I’m proud of today, I could say I don’t do bad things anymore. I got here by the help of my brother and me networking a lot. Any event there was I always tried to be there. My brother taught me be cool with anyone, you never know who you could meet and what they bring into your life. Networking is a really helpful thing for models in my opinion that’s how I am where I am. But I’m not satisfied yet I will say that. I just want people to know, I’m a Mexican/ American man, who is from east of the 110 of south central, trying to make a name out of himself in this creative world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Shoot number one place to take my friends is a Mexican mariscos restaurant. It’s a spot I grew up on for the longest Mi Lindo Nayarit. Best prices and just the best seafood. Now fun stuff I’m not into clubs or any in that way. I prefer the events I go to whenever I network. I also like art shows, fashion shows, just anything in the creative scene I’ll be there. I love showing my friends the real LA scene.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Man I wanna shoutout my brother and my cousin Frank. My brother open up this world to me, made me realize I could take on this creative scene for modeling. Hopefully in the future i branch out more as in styling and being a creative director. My cousin Frank for always riding and supporting me on this journey. Always pushing me on this dream and coming to any event with me .
