We had the good fortune of connecting with ARLOH KLEIN and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ARLOH, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risk taking is great and that everyone should do it once in a while. For me, it gets me out of my comfort zone which I think is something people should experience because change is always good. Back in 2013, I took a risk and worked with a music producer for the first time, not knowing much about the industry but quickly learned that it can be very shady and that people will do anything to get ahead. I don’t regret it at all because it was a great lesson and led me to the awesome team that I currently work with and get to call family.

Without risk taking, I definitely would not be where I am today especially with my music and I probably wouldn’t be the person I am right now. Back in 2013, I took a risk and worked with a music producer for the first time, not knowing much about the industry but quickly learned that this it can be very shady and that people will do anything to get ahead. Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an artist/musician. I started singing when I was younger and eventually realized that this is the thing that I wanna do. My journey with music definitely wasn’t easy but very worth it. I love that I’m able to express my thoughts and feelings in whatever song I write. It’s pretty tough to find a group of people you can trust in this industry but lucky for me, I’ve found a very talented team that I can count on.

I’m very proud of where I’m at today, I never thought that people would be able to listen to songs that I’ve written and knowing that there are some that have felt the same way that I have at times.

A lesson I’ve learned during all of this is that you should never compare your success to everyone else’s. We’re all on different paths and to just trust the process because you’ll eventually get to where you’re supposed to be.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite places to hit up in LA is Amoeba Music. I love getting lost in that store and looking at all the different artists on vinyl. It truly is crazy the range of how many artists that they have.

I’m definitely someone who is always down for brunch, I love my bottomless mimosas! Some of my favorite brunch places consist of Blu Jam, Jist Cafe and you can never go wrong with having brunch and a drag show at The Abbey.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shout out to my older sister, Sheila because she is the reason why I sing. When I was younger, I wanted to be just like her and when she was in her high school choir, she was always singing. That’s when it all began for me. She has always been supportive of my music, whether it be going to my performances and screaming, “that’s my sister!” when it’s silent or even just listening to music that I plan on releasing, she’s always been there to give her honest opinion and support.

I’d like to also give a shout out and huge thank you to my AK family because without you, I would be nothing. My AK family are my friends that have helped me with bringing my visions to life. Whether it be with my songs or music videos for those songs, they’ve done SO much and I appreciate everything they’ve done. I want to specifically thank Lhoycel Marie Teope who has been in it since day one on my journey with music. She’s done most of my photoshoots and taken BTS photos for my music videos for my original songs. She has also been there to lend an ear to listen when I needed her opinion on songs that were in the works. I’d like to thank Marc Solomon, who has produced and mixed a lot of my originals and songs that I’ve covered, it’s always fun being in the studio with him. I’d like to thank Miranda Campellone who has supported me and my music, she’s another person that I have gone to, to get her honest opinion on anything I was working on. She also directed the music video for my song “chardonnay” and did a fantastic job! Ren, thank you so much for always doing my makeup for photoshoots! I’d like to thank Megan Rayo, who has shot the music videos for three of my original songs and did a wonderful job. It’s always a pleasure working with her. I’d like to thank Joel Duran who shoots my cover videos for YouTube, he has so much talent and every shoot with him has always been a great time.

And lastly, I’d love to give a shoutout and big thank you to everyone that has supported me and music, anyone that has streamed my songs or watch my videos. I really really appreciate it! Because without you, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
