We had the good fortune of connecting with Arnaud Fabre and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Arnaud, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think that the success of my life is due to the happiness with my family. I always wanted to establish my family before my career. Having a supportive wife and two kids (not done yet, we want 3 to 4) is giving me all the joy and force to continue to take risks in my business in order to be pro-active on the development of it. Passion, love and balance are key to me to a successful life.
What should our readers know about your business?
We are coming from France, my family was always on wine. My brother (currently my partner in my business) moved to California in the early 2000. I was always impressed of seeing him quit everything for a new life. Then I met the daughter of his boss who became my wife years later. we have started a winery together with a different mindse, a different style of wine with a creative way of making unusual blends. My brother also created with his wife Clos Solene in the cellar of my in laws (L’Aventure Winery) before we started our brand together. It was definitely not easy like everyone who start a business, but passion and work brought us to where we wanted.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well if he was coming from France, i will tell him to land in Sf and then rent a car, drive to Monterey/Carmel and then take the 1. continue to go south until you reach Cambria. Go of 46 west towards Paso. Stay at Hotel Cheval, spend 3 days there and go taste to the wineries in Paso. finish the first day at Les Petites Canailles (my brother in law) for a beautiful French bistro style dinner. Next night, go to Somm’s Kitchen for the best food pairing restaurant and on the third night go to Il Cortile to finish your visit with a Italian style meal. Then, drive south on the 101, eat at Ember, definitely not to be missed. next continue south, a quick pit stop at Bob Well’s Bread and then head south to SB, do some tasting at the Funk zone and finish your evening at our all time favorite Spanish restaurant Loquita. Voila!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The credit is definitely going to my parents. Education is one of the main factor to a successful life in my opinion and to resume it all, they always told us that success does not fall from a tree, you have to work hard to reach it.
