We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what principle do you value most?
Showing love to myself and others is one of the most important things to me. Simply put, we all need love.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My husband and I produce and co-host a weekly podcast about love, relationships, and marriage. We don’t profess to be the experts on the subject. We are just two people going through this journey called love. While we do share knowledge we learned through our personal experiences, we don’t lean heavily on that instead we do a lot of research and share what we have learned. We are studying love and inviting our audience to learn with us. We are going through the same things that most couples are going through and we are figuring it out together. We are most proud about the growth that we have experienced as a couple and excited about the growth that our listeners have said they have experienced.
Life can be very difficult in general and I do believe the phrase nothing worth having comes easy. That definitely has been true in my life. I overcame my obstacles through my faith, lots of prayer and hard work. I have accepted the support of others and been persist. Consistency is very important.
Some of the lessons I have learned is not to give up and aim high. It sounds so cliché but believing in yourself is an absolute must. Don’t count yourself out. If you are interested in something, go for it! Personally, if I don’t get something, it won’t be because I didn’t try. I will always try. Lastly, always keep in mind hard things become easy with practice. You can do anything with enough practice.
We want our podcast to inspire people to study love. We want people to go out there and find the tools you need to have the most happy and successful relationships that you can possibly have. Whether it be through therapy, books, podcasts, or all of the above.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Culver City Stairs is a great workout with an unforgettable scenic view once you reach the top. There are so many great nature trails that I cannot pick one. A visit to the beach is a must of course!! Again, it’s so hard to pick one but I personally visit Redondo beach frequently. A couple of my favorite restaurants are The Perch and Hilltop Inglewood. We would have to find a show at the Hollywood Bowl because it is my absolute favorite venue. The new Rams stadium would be a must visit as well. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It would be absolutely impossible for me to dedicate this shoutout to one person, group, organization, etc. because there are simply too many to count. So many people have helped me along the way and I don’t take anyone’s contribution to my life for granted. No one ever gets anywhere alone. We all need help and I have had my fair share of it, I am so grateful for everyone! They have all mattered so much in my life, and I try my best to tell people how much I appreciate them on the regular.
