We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Reamer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my body care business in 2020, but the inspiration really began in 2018 when my skin went through a major shift. I never questioned coconut oil being apart of my body or hair care routines, but over time my skin developed a sensitivity and allergy to it. At the time, I was working full-time, often 50 to 60 hours a week, so although I knew I needed to find a better solution for my skin, I honestly didn’t have the time to fully dive into it.

Then during the pandemic, life slowed down enough for me to finally research ingredients, experiment, and formulate a body moisturizer that deeply nourished my dry, sensitive skin without causing irritation. Once I created something that genuinely worked for me, I felt strongly that a product like that shouldn’t just stay personal. I knew there were other people dealing with dry skin, sensitivities, or ingredient limitations who were also looking for something effective and intentional. That’s really what sparked the beginning of the business.

What should our readers know about your business?
What I’m most excited about right now is our rebrand into Branch + Vine Skincare Co. I originally started the business as Naturale Goddace, but in 2025 I felt a strong pull to pivot and build on a different foundation. One that more deeply reflected my faith, my purpose, and the direction I believe God was leading me in. That transition felt very personal and intentional for me, so I’m incredibly proud of it.

Business-wise, I believe I got to where I am today through patience and obedience. Neither of those things are easy, especially in entrepreneurship where it’s easy to compare your timeline to someone else’s or feel pressure to constantly move faster. But over time, I’ve realized that many of the challenges I faced weren’t punishments or setbacks. They were actually demonstrations of why I wasn’t fully ready yet for the level of growth I thought I wanted.

When challenges came up, I tried to approach them with understanding instead of frustration. I would ask myself: Why did this happen? What caused it? How do I fix it? How do I prevent it moving forward? A lot of that mindset comes from my background in sports medicine, where I’m constantly assessing injuries, identifying root causes, and creating rehabilitation plans to help people heal and improve. I realized I approach business very similarly.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is not to compare my journey to anyone else’s. My path is not supposed to look like someone else’s path. It may take me longer, there may be pauses, pivots, or seasons of slowing down, and that’s okay. I trust the process and trust where God is leading me.

Another lesson I’ve learned is that there’s real power in pivoting. Every time I’ve had to change direction or rework a plan, I’ve proven to myself that I’m capable of adapting, making decisions, and finding another way to reach the goal. Pivoting doesn’t mean failure, sometimes it’s wisdom.

What I want people to know about Branch + Vine is that we’re offering more than skincare products. Everything we create is rooted in intentionality, both in how we formulate and how we serve people. Our products are designed to deeply nourish the skin while still allowing people to enjoy fragrance in a balanced way through our phthalate-free scents. We care deeply about the integrity of our formulas, but we also care deeply about the people using them.

I genuinely value customer feedback, conversations, reviews, and community because those things continue to shape the brand. At the core of it all, I don’t believe this business was created simply for personal gain. I believe Branch + Vine was created to serve people and to help create meaningful daily routines that nurture both the mind and body. I think that level of care and intentionality is what truly sets us apart..

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, one thing about me is we’re absolutely starting every day at a different coffee shop. I love coffee culture and the sense of community that comes with it, so throughout the week we’d probably rotate through places like Pana’s Cafe, Homeboy Coffee, Bixby Joe Coffee & Tea, The Merchant, and Patria Coffee Roasters just to name a few.

After coffee, we’d definitely hit some of my favorite breakfast and brunch spots like Cafe de Olla, Off Street Cafe, The Breakfast Bar, A PCH, Cassidy’s Corner Cafe-Bakery for a breakfast bagel sandwich, or Blue Burro for a breakfast burrito.

From there, the days would probably be a mix of relaxing and exploring. Walking by the beach, visiting museums, taking a drive down PCH, or even doing a little getaway to somewhere nearby like Temecula or Santa Barbara for wine country vibes. Honestly, I’m also very liable to do a spontaneous turnaround trip to San Diego just for the food, scenery, and perfect weather.

At night, I’m all about good music, good food, and good energy. So we’d probably end up at places like the Blue Note Jazz Club or Catalina Jazz Club, catch a concert, listen to live music in the park with a picnic setup, or go to a Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers, or Los Angeles Rams game.

I think the best experiences out here are really centered around community, culture, food, music, and being able to slow down and enjoy the moment. That’s probably the kind of week I’d want someone to experience with me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I have to acknowledge God because without Him, none of this would be possible. I truly believe He gave me the vision for this business and even the name itself. The name Branch + Vine comes from John 15:5, where Jesus says, ‘I am the vine; you are the branches.’ That scripture is a constant reminder for me that if I remain in Him and He remains in me, I will bear fruit and apart from Him, I can do nothing. That foundation is at the center of everything I do.

Next would absolutely be my husband. If you see me, you’ll usually see him too. He comes to markets with me, helps me solidify fragrances, and we even collaborate on scent names. I’m very creative-minded, and he brings a strong analytical perspective that helps balance me out. Now, he’ll quickly tell you this is my business and not his thing at all, which always makes me laugh, but his support, honesty, and presence have been invaluable throughout this journey.

I also have to shout out my mother because her support is truly unmatched. She brags about my business more than I do honestly! But that’s just who she is at her core. Loving, supportive, and always encouraging me beyond limits. Having someone, especially my mother, believe in me that deeply means a lot as a daughter and an entrepreneur.

Lastly, my family and church community deserve so much recognition. Entrepreneurship can feel isolating and challenging at times, but they consistently pour encouragement into me through both words and actions. They pray for me, show up for me, support my business, celebrate wins with me, and stand beside me during difficult seasons too. I genuinely would not be where I am today without that kind of community behind me, and I’m incredibly grateful for them.
