We had the good fortune of connecting with Asia Monet and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Asia, what do you want your legacy to be?
We all want to leave behind a legacy, and although we can’t all be famous or global sensations, as long as I am able to impact one person I am satisfied. I want to be remembered as kind, and truly selfless. Always willing to forgive and give even when I did not receive. I want to be remembered as authentic and creative. Hopefully my music and ideas will influence people to believe in themselves and the power we all have inside.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My brand is called Nvr Alone. It took many obstacles and dark paths for it to even come to light. And being honest there were times I didn’t think I would be here to watch it grow. But it has and so have I. Ever since I was a child I struggled with depression and negative thoughts that used to consume me. I struggled to see my worth and tried to find validation in anything outside of me. My father has been incarcerated since I was three years old and my mother was never in the picture. The lack of stability during my childhood really affected me in my a adolescent- hood. When covid happened I got really into spirituality and learned about breath work and reprogramming my thoughts and it completely changed my life.
I didn’t want to repeat the same story in my head over and over again. I began to take accountability for my life, my actions. I didn’t want to be trapped in a victimhood mentality, listening to programmed thoughts. I started to slightly expand my circle, reach other out to family and friends and share my ideas and i was welcomed with open arms.
Although there was a period of time where i really struggled with loneliness and feeling like no one was there for me, I now realize that I was never alone and that there is always someone in the world who loves and cares about me. I want to be that person for someone else and I never want anyone to feel like i did. We’re not alone in this world, we’re all connected and more likely than not going through similar things.
It’s time we reconnect.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, I have only been in california for about year and some change and most of that time I spent working but what I would love to do would be starting the day super early, packing a basket to picnic and eat later and head to the beach to watch the sunrise. The beach is still my favorite place to go, I love to write and meditate and see how beautiful the ocean is. Newport beach is my favorite, not too crowded and somewhat secluded. I’d take my friend to the Japanese friendship garden and we’d just talk and enjoy the scenery. I’m really into views and nature so I wild love to take her to the butterfly garden as well as the cherry blossom festival. I would mostly cook food as I am vegetarian and try to have everyone try alternative foods. But going to a Michoacana and getting paletas and tamarindo is always a good time!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to everyone that believed in me. Everyone that saw something special in me and helped me cultivate it into reality, Even at times when I didn’t see it in myself, they poured words of affirmations into me and didn’t let me drown in negative thoughts.
Special shout-out to Alex West, Spot Collins, Gabby Barela and many more…
