We had the good fortune of connecting with Austin Albert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Austin, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always had a love for music and the process of making music. It was time for me to step out of my comfort zone and release my music to the world.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Hi! My name is Austin or some people call me Wustin. I make beats and music for artist to appear on or for people to enjoy. I’ve always had this love for music since I was a kid. YellowCard and Linkin Park were my favorite bands growing up. You can kinda tell that those bands influenced some of my guitar beats a lot. Their would be instances where I would get goosebumps when listened to their music, I wanted to have the same impact on others when they listen to mine. Being a producer and growing your own platform is definitely hard work. It’s certainly not easy and there’s a lot of nitty griddy tweaks and knobs you have to master to make your mix sound good. Ultimately, a major way to grow your platform is to make connections with fellow producers. Making those small connections can go a long way. This is a way that I have gotten a lot of success and able to work with artist and get placements. Just asking for collabs with other producers or DM’ing artist to see if they can hop on your beat. Being a producer has always been my dream, and I’m going to work as hard as I can for that goal.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I don’t leave my house often so probably the beach or my studio 🤷🏼♂️
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to credit my fellow producer friends who have helped me with this dream and continue to show support constantly. I wouldn’t be where I am without them.
