We had the good fortune of connecting with Bella Rabbit and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bella, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Life is experienced through trial and error, that’s how we learn what works and what doesn’t. I think my life has been filled with decision making that seemed risky for most people. From moving to Los Angeles after getting a scholarship back in Mexico, all cause my intuition screamed at me, “this is not your path” to leaving a record deal and deciding to start building again from the ground up with my vision being the lighthouse. Playing safe doesn’t help you evolve. Part of being a successful human being is understanding that we live in a world of dualities. In order for success to exist, one must face the opposite, which is failure. I feel proud of every hard decision I’ve dared to take, for every leap of faith. Sometimes I don’t get to see how it’ll play out until it does. In the end, one can’t avoid making mistakes, it’s all about your perspective on them. What did you learn from what didn’t work? How can you apply it to the next step? Sometimes taking risks is as simple as trusting your own intuition, many people might try to project their fears and failures onto your path, but you have to trust yourself. Risk is daring to lead when everyone wants to follow.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think my art has a very unique lens because I have been exposed to many situations that have impacted the way I create. I think getting to where I am today has been a combination of a big vision that I followed since I was 6 years old and using my morals and values as a compass. I never thought my journey would be like it has been. I have acquired so much wisdom from every step I’ve decided to continue moving forward. Any journey is hard, cause you gotta trust the process of becoming. Sometimes I think I lost the person who moved to Los Angeles, but lately I recognized that I could never lose my essence, most times it’s just there, waiting for me to acknowledge it. What I want others to know from my story and my brand is to be who they are. I want to talk about things that are important to me and share how I view the world. There’s really no good or bad way to be as long as it’s authentic to you. In a world where you can be anything and anyone, chose to be yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
it depends on the friend, there’s a spot for every mood in LA. I guess my favorite thing to do is walk around, maybe thrift shop or go walk by the beach. Get a coffee from a local coffee shop (always down to try a new one, don’t believe in favoritism) I enjoy speakeasies for going out, so maybe something like Good Times at Davey Waynes or No Vacancy, a good hike at Griffith Park to get some perspective.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am the product of all the advice, critics, opportunities, love, hate and support I’ve gotten throughout the years. I’m hesitant to mention specifics cause I believe I would leave a lot of names out of it or this would take forever finish. But I must say, there’s a book that always brings me back to life, and grounds me as I resonate with the main character’s journey a LOT. That book is “The Alchemist”. My family has played a very interesting role doubling as a catalyzer of growth as much as a supporting energy. I think I would thank everyone who has intersected with my path, sometimes to help me by being supportive and others to teach me when I’ve made the mistake of giving away my power, once again. People can mentor you with their experience, but I always have to remind myself, my journey is unique to me, so, I’m always discerning of putting people up on a pedestal, everyone is a student and a teacher.
