We had the good fortune of connecting with Beryl Gore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beryl, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued being a singer/songwriter because it has always been my way of letting out what I need to say. It is my way of expressing myself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was just a kid from a small town in Maryland on the East Coast with bigger dreams than Maryland could handle. I always had a dream to move out to Los Angeles California to start recording and making my dreams become a reality. I wasn’t sure how It was going to happen, but after I hiked a section of the Appalachian Trail for 30 days straight, i decided the time was right and so I packed up my life in my car with only 2 weeks notice to friends, family and work. It wasn’t a straight forward relocation. I went through huge challenges on my way to Hollywood. I was living out of my car for 6 months while working on farms just to make a dollar, but if you’re chasing something you truly have a passion for, then a little challenge or struggle never hurts. One of my biggest lessons i have learned is to let go of your Ego. The minute you do that, you can learn so much from others. Ego holds a lot of people back from their true potential. After living in L.A for three years now I am proud to say i just released my first full length album “Stay True”. All tracks are written and recorded by me and released on all platforms.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If someone was coming to L.A to visit i would first show them some of the history of this city. So many great artist and musicians have come here to follow the same dreams I have come to follow. I would have to show them Sunset Strip in Hollywood and West Hollywood for the night life and music venues. But to me this city isn’t all about nightlife and bars. i think it is amazing how you can be in the mountains one minute and then back down to the beaches within a hour.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is to The Swingin’ Pipe records. The minute I Got to L.A Jim Wilson who runs The Swingin’ Pipe records gave me a outlet to put my music out worldwide. Jim Wilson always encouraged me to write what I wanted to write and just be myself as a artist.
