Meet Beylor Telengüt | Concept Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Beylor Telengüt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beylor, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I guess my story isn’t that different from many others, I’ve loved drawing ever since I was a kid. Over time, it became such an important part of my life that I was always sketching whether during classes, breaks, or even holidays. Luckily, my parents were really supportive. Instead of discouraging me, they actually invested their time and money to help me grow, which allowed me to keep improving my artistic skills.
In high school, I made the decision to turn this passion into a lifelong career. I worked hard and was admitted to one of the top eight art universities in China, which really helped me strengthen my foundations. After graduating from university, I went on to study for a Master’s degree in 3D Computer Animation at Bournemouth University in the UK, as a way to strengthen my weaker side in 3D skills.
So I think the reason I pursued a creative career is quite simple, I genuinely love creating things and bringing my ideas to life, whether in 2D or 3D form.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think everything started with the sci-fi movies my father used to watch with me when I was little. They had a huge influence on my artistic taste and visual preferences. I still remember watching Transformers (2007), that movie really sparked my fascination with military themes and robots. As I grew older, I began exploring more genres on my own, and I have to say retro-futurism and cyberpunk became my personal favorites. They’ve been the main sources of inspiration for my independent creations.
Getting to where I am now wasn’t exactly easy, but I wouldn’t say it was too hard either. There weren’t any major obstacles, but there were always small challenges along the way. What I’ve learned is that you don’t need to take down every problem at once, just keep solving them one by one, and don’t let them pile up and crush you.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to always stay humble and curious. There will always be someone better than you, and the best thing you can do is learn from them and focus on improving yourself, instead of getting lost in overconfidence.
What I want the world to know about me and my story is that I’m constantly trying to find a balance between “coolness” and realism, to create designs that not only look powerful and stylish, but also feel believable.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d definitely start with Bournemouth Beach, it’s one of the best sandy beaches in Europe, and honestly, it was one of the main reasons I chose to study here! We’d spend the first day just relaxing by the sea — picture this: sitting on the beach with a cold beer, a bit of barbecue, and the ocean breeze washing away all the stress. Pure bliss.
Next, I’d take them to explore some of the nearby cliffs and the Jurassic Coast, the views are stunning, and if we’re lucky, we might even find a fossil or two!
And for the grand finale, we’d visit my one true love — The Tank Museum. No debate, that’s a must. XD

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The people I’m most grateful for are definitely my parents, without their support in so many ways, I simply couldn’t have made it this far on my own.
Next, I’d like to thank my 8 under graduate roommates. During our four years together, they gave me so much emotional support and encouragement, and they were actually the ones who helped lay the very first stones on my path toward 3D art.
Finally, I want to thank all my classmates from BU FMC W115. They came from all over the world, and their kindness and willingness to share knowledge taught me a lot, not only about software and creative techniques, but also about collaboration and communication. My English also improved a lot thanks to these lovely people, and I’m really grateful for that!
