We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon G. Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandon G., we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
People make me happy. I really love people, from all walks of life. We’ve all been placed on the earth to have an experience. Each day is an opportunity to navigate it and the people you come into contact with in a new way. I’ve found a brief encounter with a stranger leaves a lasting impact. Whether it be good or bad, I can almost guarantee you may not remember their name but you’ll remember how they made you feel. I love that about life. It’s always a new adventure just around the corner.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I can say that it’s something special to be one of a handful of platforms that are solely dedicated to empowering, equipping and encouraging men. Discussing what it means to be a gentleman in 2020 is not the easiest of tasks. In a number of ways, the ideals I promote challenge men in the area of transparency, vulnerability and communication. It’s a daily goal to show boys and men that it’s okay to embrace the sides of them they’ve been conditioned to believe were wrong or weaknesses. I’ve learned the mission isn’t changing the world in one day, it’s about hopefully impacting one life a day and in turn you’re slowly changing the world. So I focus on the connections I get to build with the men who are drawn to my work and align with it, I think the world should know I’m just a man on a journey. I’m just willing to share it and hope to be the voice for those who feel they don’t have one.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Sweet Butter Cafe for the best blueberry pancakes and coffee in the Valley. Granville, great food and patio seating to hangout. LA horse rentals for an evening ride in Griffith Park. Forman’s whiskey tavern for drinks and food in Burbank.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I want to thank God which all my inspiration flows from. Secondly, my mama for being the biggest supporter of what the hell I wanted to chase after in life. She’d make sure I had a plan and passion to go get it. Also, Julian Mitchell the man who pushed me to start New Age Gents. Lastly, every person who’s crossed my path during this amazing journey of building better men…thank you, you’re the wind in my sails.
