We had the good fortune of connecting with Briggs Weyrauch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briggs, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Personally I think the most important factor behind the success of my brand is being both authentic and real with my customers and anyone who I do business with. When it comes to Briggs Beard Co and my brand, I truly built it around who I am as a person and who I truly want to be perceived as by customers and other people I do business with. When it comes to creative business in today’s world there are a lot of people who pursue the idea of getting rich quick or doing things just for clout as the kids would say. This is one major mistake I feel happens in creative businesses. For someone like myself I have already seen the benefits of being real with people while also staying true to myself and what I truly believe in as a person. For example I built Briggs Beard Co with the environment being one of the major factors of how we create, package, and ship all of our products. Now if I just said this and didn’t use ecofriendly packaging or didn’t try to give back to the environment in some way people would realize how fake that claim is and would question the integrity of my business. As far as Briggs Beard Co and being an online store 90% of my interactions with people are virtual and through social media and in my opinion social media has made it significantly easier for people to hide behind the ideas of what they want their business to be perceived as versus what is actually going on behind the curtains. I am a firm believer in practicing what you preach and following along with this in business has already shown its benefits through the amazing connections and relationships I have created through such an endevor. People want the real, authentic you and people are getting better and better at sniffing the fake ones out. I would take 10 customers who support me and my ideas and my true motives over 50 customers who buy into some sort of fake culture that my brand might be perceived as. People will forget what you did, and they will forget what you said but they will never ever forget how you made them feel. When it comes to creative business this is massively important and extremely underrated. Be real. Be you. Afterall wasn’t the whole reason you started to pursue your dreams so that you could get paid to be you? Cheers! -Briggs

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started and own an all natural beard and body oil company. One thing that sets my company apart is our focus on our environmental impact. We use all natural products from mother nature to create awesome blends of oils for every hair, beard and skin type. Next we use recyclable glass bottles for our products and label them with 100% post consumer recycled paper. After this everything we ship our product in is either compostable or biodegradable. To wrap this all together we plant one tree for every purchase made on our website to help reduce our carbon footprint. Getting to where I am today took nothing but hard work and dedication. When it comes to owning your own business and starting small there truly is no short cuts. Being the person who makes the oil, packages the oil and ships the oil has been quite humbling to say the least but all that hard work has paid off. Although there have been challenges and rough times finding self motivation and drive to keep pursing the dream is what has helped me overcome some of the most difficult tasks. The Briggs Beard Co brand is truly what you see on the internet not buts about it. We truly do care about the environment. We really do listen to our customers and their feedback, and we truly are company that is driven by the support of so many people that have “bought into” the idea of a brand that can be more than just a brand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I currently live in Missoula, MT and I would take people to some of my favorite breweries (Imagine Nation and Conflux). As well as showing off some of my secret sunset viewing spots and backcountry camping areas that offer amazing views and a good feel for the nature in the surrounding area.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this to my mom and dad. Without them in my corner so many of my dreams would have never come true. Also want to shoutout to my lovely Girlfriend Allie Bickel and my pup Cruz for being the best cheerleaders anyone could ask for!
