We had the good fortune of connecting with Bruce Hamilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bruce, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
The book that had the biggest impact on me is “Without Their Permission” by Alexis Ohanian, founder of Reddit. At the time I initially read “Without Their Permission”, I was on the fence on if I was going to make the leap of faith into a career change from music to technology. Ohanian’s journey of creating Reddit including all the ups and downs gave me all the confidence I needed to take the plunge. Whenever I’m in doubt regarding my career, I always refer back to this book. I strongly advise for every entrepreneur no matter what industry to read this.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Wing Zero Apps is an app development platform and agency. Our app development platform allows people to create their own mobile apps visually without coding. We also offer custom app development services, for projects that require features not yet available on our platform,. We leverage our platform to build your app and bring development time and cost down by 50% – 75%.
What excites us is removing the technical and financial barriers for people to bring their app ideas to life. We hear about so many great ideas that can potentially be million or billion dollar companies. We’re happy to facilitate bringing those ideas to fruition.
At Wing Zero Apps, we believe mobile apps are the future of business and communication. People are now accustomed to doing almost anything and everything at the ease of pushing a button on their mobile device. I believe the pandemic has created an even greater demand for mobile apps. In 2020, over $100 billion in revenue was generated through mobile app shopping. This is a 30% increase from 2019. Not having a mobile app at this point is the equivalent of not having a website for your business.
We are a design-first app development agency. You don’t get a second chance at a first impression so we want people to be wowed when they first open an app created by our team. “Design is not what it looks and feels like. Design is how it works” – Steve Jobs.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is really tough since there are so many incredible places to eat, drink, or hang in LA. Some of my favorite places in West Hollywood are Della Terra, Bacari, and Crossroads. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are quite a few people who have been critical to my success. Sha Money, Shalik Berry, Ilya Pozin, William Lee, and Kofi Frimpong have not only been incredible peers but inspirational on this crazy journey.
