We had the good fortune of connecting with Bry-Han Solo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bry-Han, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose this career path because I have a very unique story and not only do I think sharing that, would be amazing for more then just me, I also think what I have been through may potentially help someone else with their own obstacles and/or struggles in life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have overcame many challenges in this lifetime. In high school I grew up in the Rio grande valley, a few miles from Mexico, and growing up there was interesting to say the least. I was surrounded by cartel violence and crumbling system where I had no choice but to come back to LA once I graduated in 2011. Coming back to LA had its up and downs too though. I was homeless a few times, found my self addicted to drugs, and really just stuck around people an atmosphere that most don’t make it out from. I could go on for hours though. One major thing I learned is to never give up! Iv been in alley with nowhere to go and no money, to opening shows for people of notoriety. Something that is really important to me as far as my brand, story, and vision behind all of this, I want to help other people succeed. Anything is possible in this world and I am living proof and I just help I can lend a hand to someone in need.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in the south bay so my immediate answer is to hit Hermosa beach! The bubble has many choices to choose from so I would have to say my backyard is first. I’m not here to give out the secret spots of LA but places to eat like Avenue 26 and cliffs edge would be a good call. As far as experiencing more, the top of the world spot and sunken city are my go to when it comes to a slight adventure. We could do a whole segment on this as well though hahah

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt my shout out goes to everyone at the Savage on the Beat team! Without them I wouldn’t be where I am at today. I consider my friends and family to be on the team and if your helping push my music and ideas, you are definitely on the team! It takes a village and I can confidently say I have a great group of people surrounding me.
