Meet Carrie “ms. Nfty” Lyn | Business Developer & EdTech Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carrie “ms. Nfty” Lyn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carrie “Ms. NFTy”, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Balance is a the KEY to the success in life.
Success as in maintaining a healthy personal & business life that promotes a happier you.
When thinking about balance you need to think about all of the roles you are in life ie partner, parent, friend and yourself. Ensure you are fueling each of these parts of yourself and you will be more apt to handle the rollercoaster of life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from others is my 20+ years of experience in business and brand development, where I’ve built multimillion-dollar entities and launched nonprofit initiatives focused on underserved communities. From a young age, I was driven by the struggles I witnessed, which motivated me to DO MORE. I realized early on that I needed to control my own business to maximize my potential, and at 17, I began getting clients by proving my worth. Though it was challenging to break through, my passion for delivering results kept me going—even if it meant working until 3 or 4 a.m.
The journey has been far from easy, but I’ve learned that challenges shape you. Overcoming obstacles has taught me that when you’re living in your purpose and passion, people will say, “This is so easy for you.” But in reality, it’s not about ease—it’s about loving what you do and putting in the hard work behind the scenes. That’s why clients trust me and are willing to pay for the value I bring. I’ve learned to never discredit those who make it look easy, because true success is built on dedication, persistence, and quality.
What I want the world to know is that my story is one of relentless commitment to social impact and excellence. I believe in creating solutions that uplift, empower, and make a difference—and that’s what my brand stands for.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love wellness, adventure, a little bougie shopping and champagne, and some fun socializing. So for a week I would make sure we hit these spots!
Day 1
Beverly Hills:
Breakfast at Chaumont(vegan) the absolute BEST French bakery and cafe for a Ham & Cheese croissant with egg, tomatoes and fresh truffles with an Iced Oat milk Vanilla Latte! YUMM!
Walk through the Rodeo streets and shop Tom Ford; Saint Laurant; Chanel; Hermes; Goyard; Burberry; Rimowa; Dior, Balenciaga and Givanchy while sipping champagne from store to store.
Land at Crustaceans for a tasty lunch where they have THE best Vegan Calamari and Crab cakes and a Tumeric Mule refresher.
Stroll down to Neiman Marcus and Saks to catch a variety of brands that you may not have seen on Rodeo
Day 2
Morning Juice at Kreation, followed by a hike up the famous Runyun Canyon, grab a smoothie and shower before checking in at Tomoko Spa(Japanese Spa in Beverly Hills) for an exquisite experience of the Japanese culture. Stop by Dante’s for a late lunch on the rooftop of the Maybourne Hotel. Close out the evening with drinks and cigars at the Grand Havana Room.
Day 3
Let’s hit Santa Monica for a morning bike ride on the beach, riding down to Venice Beach where we grab a few slices of Pizza from Love Amaro Pizzeria. It may take a few to get your pizza, but it is made to order and let me tell YOU, get the cali bacon cheeseburger and the Tika Masala and their Buffalo Chicken… sooooo Good! I tell them light sauce and cook well done. Walk around to see muscle beach, the skate park, and all of the performers along the strip and enjoy a couple of games of vollyball. Wrap the beach day with dinner at the Butchers Daughter and walking down Abbot Kinney window shopping the various boutique shops.
Day 4
Drive down to Monarch Beach, the Waldorf Astoria for a beautiful Brunch overlooking their pool, golf course and ocean all at the same time. After brunch, take a bike ride down the coast and stop at the various local shops for juices and sandwiches to keep it light and enjoy the beautiful beaches. If the waves are WAVING, go surf and end the day with dinner on the beach at their guest only restaurant.
Day 5
Breakfast on Malibu Pier with a Froze, soaking up some sun before stopping by Aviator Nation’s flagship shop where they also have a live performance and event side(we have to check the schedule tho!). Then we walk to Nobu Malibu for a few lychee martinis before hitting up the Santa Monica Wellness Oasis on the PCH, located on the beach where we can experience their cold plunge, sauna, magnesium pool; south bath experience, beach yoga and get an aura reading. This is so cleansing to your spirit and it feels like all is well with the world after all of that. From there we head to The Ivy santa monica for dinner.
Day 6
Good Morning Hot 8 Yoga Class to work up our Brunch at Crossroads Kitchen appetite. This is where I get the breakfast burrito, Cigars as an appetizer(amazing!), and the Break the Fast plate with sausage AND bacon baby! Soooo good! I may get a berry Mule here if it’s that type of day. Then we head over to the Coffee Commissary to grab an iced latte to take over to the Fairfax Flea Market where we can find new and used goods and art along with listen to some music and vibe with some good people. We will grab a few bites at Katana, without getting too full so we can dance appropriately ;o) at The Fleur Room. Here we will dance the nice away with the hollywood friends and family you only hear about.
Day 7
Spin Class at Equinox to get our energy flowing, Grab a Kale Protein Smoothie at Juicy Ladies and maybe split a vegan breakfast burrito; then have a visit at the Getty Museum where we can enjoy a lunch at their mountain top restaurant before taking the tram down. Then we head to LACMA where we enjoy some modern art and live jazz on the grass with some wine. Then close out the last night with the classic Hollywood Restaurant: Craig’s for some amazing classic comfort foods and a place where everyone will know YOUR name. Don’t leave without getting the Chocolate Chip cookies!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Special Shoutout goes to none other that John HOPE Bryant. Chairman of Operation Hope.
Thank you so much for always being a rock in my life. For over 20 years, you’ve been more than just a mentor—you’ve been a true friend, always showing up with your time, resources, and, most importantly, your energy. Your way of talking me off the ledge, restoring my confidence, and reminding me of my power is unmatched, and I can’t express how grateful I am for that. Whether you were in LA or now in Atlanta, your support has never wavered, and I’m beyond thankful for having you in my corner.
