We had the good fortune of connecting with Charrell Mack and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Charrell, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk use to scare me, but now I find value and life lessons in it. I believe that risks will unlock parts of yourself that you didn’t know was there. Risk opens other doors and pathways; which is always scary but worth it. It took me awhile to appreciate risk because I was so afraid of it. I’d always think the worst of the “what if” situation and would basically chicken out. But as I have grown and gone through grad school I’ve learned; as cliché as it sounds but “Life is about taking risks.” If you don’t take the risk you’ll never know and you’ll never grow. It’s still a process for me to fully trust, but when I have lead with “risk” the outcome has always been rewarding.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Wooooo this is a big question. Well long story short I’m an Actor and I’ve just recently graduated from USC’s Graduate Program, The School of Dramatic Arts. It’s been a wild ass ride to say the least. My last year in the program was not ideal because it happened during the pandemic. Not being able to finish my last year as grad student in person was not ideal, but in that same breath I’ve grown so much from the entire experience. I’ve learn things I’ve would have learned, experienced new experiences and became a stronger artist out of it. I’ve learn patience and acceptance. Overall experience has even been rewarding for me. I’ve gotten amazing representation out of it and currently I’ve gotten to be apart of some amazing projects. I just look forward to sharing my passion of acting and creating to anyone and everyone who needs to escape life for a bit, whether that’s on the stage or on the screen.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
haha this is hilarious because I just moved to LA in July. You would think having attended USC for 2 years I would know a bit more about LA, but I’m still learning and exploring. I’m always up for meeting new people and trying new foods and exploring new places. So if anyone has an recommendations for me let me know!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
