We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsie Remanda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsie, how do you think about risk?
I thought I had an answer to this question lol. But when I start to think about all the risks I’ve taken in my life, I realize I think about risk much differently. My original answer was along of the lines how much I have traveled all over the world by myself as a female and quitting my job to start my business without a plan or giant savings account in place. Those things make me want to pat myself on the back and congratulate myself for taking so many risks. But a thought keeps popping up in my head; What made those things risks? Was I really taking a risk or was I simply living life? I think it’s easy to get the two mixed up. When certain things are labeled as “risky”, people don’t do those things simply because it’s labeled as risky. When in reality many of the safe things in life can lead to danger or failure as well. And I think I’ve always jumped head first into so many things in my life without overthinking the “what ifs” because I don’t view them as risks. Things only become risks because we’ve predicted an poor outcome in our minds. I view them as experiences that I want to experience during my time on this earth, and nothing more. To not let society or labels decide what is a risk for me. To go after anything and everything I want to in life simply because I want to do them 🙂

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business journey has been a very winding path that eventually led me right back to where I started! I originally started in the travel niche and mainly focused on sharing my experiences and and adventures around the world through my instagram account. My captions were always very inspirational and mindset-based because I aways felt so much wisdom and insight through these experiences. I loved sharing about things I had learned and helped me to have a more fulfilling and joyful life so that it could hopefully reach someone who was searching for those aspects in their life. When the travel industry closed down from the pandemic I decided to shift gears and start creating more content that focused on mindset and creating a fulfilling life.

I wrote my very first e-book all about the key to fulfillment…. then never did anything with it. I had major imposter syndrome and felt like I wasn’t qualified to teach this to anyone.

So I became a certified mindset coach so I had the credibility to be taken more seriously as well as the skills and knowledge to make a bigger impact.

But soon the facebook ads started to roll in… “how to get clients”… “how to sell more courses”…

and I went down a deep rabbit hole of information on how to get more sales and book more clients. Each one offered a different strategy and told me I had to completely change everything I had built. When I tried one that didn’t work.. I’d move onto the next.

This led to burnout, self doubt and a lot of second guessing.. and worst of all, a complete loss of direction.

My business had changed so much from it’s original form because so many people were telling me who I needed to be in order to be successful.

I was really struggling one day when I accidentally came across my old e book and I was SHOOK. It was so good!! I couldn’t believe I never did anything with it because it was incredible. And it completely reminded me of who I was and how I wanted to show up in this world. (emphasis on “I”)

I had lost myself so much trying to be like the other successful entrepreneurs I was learning from, but I forgot that it’s MY unique magic and essence that will bring me joy, fulfillment and success in this world.

And funny enough, *that’s exactly* what my e-book was all about. Talk about a full circle moment!

Now I guide women all over the world to bring more freedom, joy and fulfillment through self-discovery and self love. That *they themselves* are the key to success and happiness. Nothing brings me more joy than watching another woman realize how insanely amazing she is for simply being herself. When that shift happens, her entire world shifts. And I’m so grateful that I get to be a part of that journey 🙂

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in a small community in northern british columbia, Canada so being outside is very much a part of life here. When friends and family come to visit I love to spoil them with this vastness of nature. This usually includes a hike down the side of a mountain through the old growth forest to our favourite spot on the ocean, swimming and sun bathing at our local lake, kayaking up or down a river and cooking hotdogs over a campfire. During the winter months snowshoeing and snowboarding are our go to’s. After a fun day on Shames Mountain (the most epic ski hill you’ll ever go to) we always stop at Ninja to fill our tired bodies with a hot bowl of soup, fresh sushi and delicious bulgogi Japchae.

Since there isn’t a lot of “night life” in our town- a games night full of conversation and belly laughs is the perfect way to cap of day 🙂

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My sister-in-law Melissa Remanda at @simplyhappy_home has been my biggest cheer-leader, supporter and biz friend through my entire entrepreneurship journey. She’s always there for me in the highs and lows and I would have felt very alone doing this journey without her! Thank you for all your love and support
