We had the good fortune of connecting with Cherie Zuo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cherie, what do you attribute your success to?
It is SO hard to say which factor is the most important one because every small thing matters in our success. If I have to pick one factor, I would say: trust your business partners.
Mutual trust between you and your partners is SO SO important. LA MENO was created by me and my husband, Jeremy. We trust each other along this way. Running a business is all about decisions. At first, you decided what to sell. After that, you decided where to sell and how to sell. There are so many decisions in your path and you really need to trust your partners. Trust his/her ability to lead the team and manage the whole brand. In LA MENO, Jeremy is in charge of management, marketing, and sales. I’m in charge of designs. We are very clear about our division of work. He trust my designs and never doubted my work. I trusted his leadership and executive ability. This trust is the bridge between us and leads us to our success.
You can never work with someone you don’t trust. So I think trust is the most significant factor in our business.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
LA MENO is a handcrafted jewelry company located in Orange County. The company was firstly established in LA. And MENO in Italian means little and small. Just like our jewelries, they are very dainty and delicate, made to fit people’s daily life. We create jewelry for healings and wellbeing. The energies that each piece have are tremendous. As the owner, we have passion for artisan-made crafts and healing energies from our mother nature. That’s why most of our jewelries are made with real precious or semi-precious gemstones. Our work is strongly influenced and characterized by our belief. We believe handmade goods have soulful quality that can not be replaced or replicated in any other way. Just like our jewelries, the styles are unique, the energies are powerful, and the crafts are expressive. I think what sets us apart from others is that we not only a jewelry brand but also a good storyteller. At LA MENO, our customers will be able to pick and choose the energies they need, experience the changes that energies bring to them and ultimately help them to live and think positively.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would love to show them the city where my husband and I met, Northridge. Both my husband and I were in Cal State University, Northridge when we first came to United States. That’s where we met and knew each other. That city and university means a lot to us. There were so many beautiful memories happened there. I often said to Jeremy that I would never get lost in Northridge, but I might get lost in Irvine (the city where we are living right now) if I don’t have my cellphone navigation on.There are so many gourmet restaurants in Northridge. Northridge means a lot to me and Jeremy and we really wish that one day, we could open a LA MENO store in Northridge.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my husband Jeremy and my business partner Abby. LA MENO wouldn’t be so success today without these two talented and excellent people. They are the leading roles in my company and I can’t say enough appreciation to these two persons.
