We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Highsmith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, how do you think about risk?
When taking risks comes to mind, its about stepping out of your comfort zone and crossing boundaries. I always think with a positive outcome with risk taking. What you think and believe will actually happen because you’re putting those negative vibrations into the universe. so I always think with a positive mind of what taking the current risk I’m thinking about at the moment. At the end of it all something beautiful always comes with taking risks. For me, the biggest risk in my career was leaving my business and job behind to move to a state that I never been to before. Even though it was a struggle in the beginning a couple of months later I ended up doing something I always wanted to do my whole life, which is work for myself. From taking that risk and leap of faith I have never been happier

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a music producer, Videographer, and photographer all in one. what sets me apart, I would have to say is the fact that I do all 3 of those For my photography side, my style is separated with the wide angles to showcase the scenery mixed in with photo manipulation. But on Instagram when I post my pictures I also post a video to go along with it like a model reel of the shoot and throughout the video I show more pictures all with my music playing in the background. so it’s showcasing all 3 of my talents in one place photography , videography, and music production. For my music style, people know my sound as being that old soulful hip hop boom bap type of beats but with a twist. On IG what separates me from everyone else I would say my sound but not only that my beat videos as well. with all the special effects and time and effort that goes into them, it all comes together. Where I am in my career now took me a lifetime seems like lol. nothing worth having comes easy and if it does it’ll be here today and gon tomorrow. everything takes time and practice, patients, more practice, trial and error, and the will power to never give up. Ive been making beats since I was 8 years old … I’m 29 now and I’m just now scratching the surface to where I want to be, one thing I want people to know is that I never gave up after so many people doubted me and didn’t believe, I kept going

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I honestly wouldn’t even know we would have to google areas lol I’m new to FL lol

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna give a shoutout to everyone in the world that supports me, from the people who I don’t know to the ones I actually know friends, family, coworkers, everyone. I don’t wanna say names because I don’t want to leave anyone out lol. but shoutout to Gina for helping me in trouble times and also my dawg L.Dre for recommending me, seeing him work and grind is super motivational. Much love to barns and noble as well because without them I wouldn’t be reading books as much as I do now lol
