We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Zezza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christian, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I feel very grateful for every personal and professional experience I’ve been living and enjoying in life and I firmly believe that every single life event is unique and essential on the path road to who we become later in life. Professionally speaking, raising in a family of music lovers, especially on my dad side, was certainly the most important and solid foundation for what eventually has become my main passion and professional activity. As far as personal relationships, I feel myself deeply connected to those who have an emotional, sensitive but still empathic type of approach to life, which sometimes can be a little dangerous because it can easily show your inner weaknesses, but it’s the most pure and interesting one for sure.

In 2016 I got a U.S. artist visa thanks to the whole amount of awards and professional achievements that I have built throughout my entire career.
Along the years I toured and recorded with hundreds of artists around Italy, Europe and U.S., as a guitarist, musical instruments demonstrator for major international music brands such as Ik Multimedia, Godin Guitars and Eko Guitars, as well as a solo artist. I’ve been featured as a guitarist performer and musical instruments demonstrator in several international highly distinguished music events, conventions, press conferences and international competitions, always playing a critical role for the highly distinguished companies and projects I’ve been involved with.

My guitar recordings have been included in some of the most prestigious international Theatrical Musicals, such as the worldwide touring musical “The portrait of Dorian Gray”, a Pierre Cardin Production. The Musical has been touring non-stop internationally in the most important Theaters in Europe and US.
As a music composer/producer for TV-Film and Media applications, I’ve been in partnership with some of the most relevant international Music Publishing Companies for several years, providing exclusive custom music for TV/Film and general broadcasting. My music has been used in some popular TV reality shows such as “The Voice” and major TV networks such as National Geographic, Disney Channel, and distributed globally in more than 40 countries.

I’ve been awarded by multiple international Film Festivals and organizations such as Hollywood Music in Media Awards, Intercontinental Music Awards, Oniros Film Festival, TMA Awards, The Thing in the Basement Horror Fest, Akademia Music Awards, just to name a few.

As a music educator I worked full time in several music schools for more than 10 years, then focusing my teaching career into the authorship of educational music video courses and books; I’m the author of 4 educational books and 7 educational video courses related to a wide range of music subjects.
Currently I run my boutique Music Production/Publishing Company “Tracklist Music”, operating in the Music Licensing Industry and providing educational, recording and production music services.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a guitarist, composer/producer and music educator working professionally in the Music Industry for over 20 years. I graduated in contemporary guitar and music harmony at the Academy of Music in my hometown Modena, Italy. I also attended a certified guitar program at Musicians Institute, Hollywood, CA.

I firmly believe obstacles and challenges represent an important learning opportunity in every journey, either a professional or any other life areas. as any other form of artistic profession, Music asks you a lot in terms of investments, passion, determination, hard work, consistency, going through all the struggles in form of financial limitations, uncertainties about the future, which of course may lead you into negative feelings such as self-doubting your talents and personal qualities. I would say that it takes an enormous amount of blind passionate faith to overcome any of those challenges and most of all you have to put the focus and energy on your strength instead of your weaknesses in order to make your authenticity and uniqueness the most valuable aspect of who you are and what you do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Considering how rich and attractive L.A. is and still so spread out, I will pick only few places that it could be nice, exciting and inspiring for everyone to visit. I would start from the ocean side, let’s say from Marina Del Rey, have a burger and beer at Hinano Café, listening to some live music and feel that ’60 California beach vibe that became so iconic over the years. Then I would go for a walk at the beach, let’s say towards Venice to feel that hippy vibe and energy. The next day I would take them towards Hollywood, not as much for the main tourist attractions, but most of all over the hills by Mulholland Drive, Griffith Observatory, Hollywood Lake, in order to enjoy the best vista of Los Angeles and be immerse in the nature. The next day I would focus on the west side of Los Angeles, let’s say West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Century City, maybe taking a walk at Westfield Century City mall, have something to eat and do some shopping. The last few days I would dedicate at least one day to take a walk in Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade and Santa Monica Pier, ending the week by visiting Downtown L.A and having a cool aperitif to some elegant roof buildings. Of course I could have mentioned plenty of other places where I could take a friend visiting LA for the first time, like the Valley (which I love), Universal City, Malibu and Point Doom.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all, I’m very grateful and feel myself very lucky for having had the constant support of my family since the early days of me wanting to pursue a career path in the Music Industry. Of course I could mention plenty of other people and experiences that have played a very important role on my personal and professional journey but, as I said, my first and main gratitude goes to my family for their unconditional support.
