We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Crouch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The biggest thing that outsiders are unaware of in this industry is all the hard work that goes into flowers. A majority of people see the floral industry as fun, easy going, and stress free. I cant tell you how many times I have people say to me, “Oh you get to play with flowers all day, how fun!” Absolutely it is fun! The biggest misconception is that it’s ALL fun. We work hard, we work weekends, and we work holidays. Heavy buckets, dirt in your fingernails, backaches from the concrete floor, sore legs and arms from lifting, thorns in your hands from roses, its definitely not all pretty but the outcome sure is. The flower shop is a beautiful place to work, we work hard and we play hard. We get to be the light on someones darkest days and we get to make. dreams come true at weddings. Even with the misconception of the industry, we LOVE what we do and we truly are passionate about flowers so we don’t mind the hard work that comes with it…….and the dirty fingernails 🙂
Please tell us more about your career. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Today we have the absolute best team and this is one of the things that sets us apart from any other florist in our industry. We truly have a unique family and each one of us brings something valuable to the table. We fit like a puzzle and we balance each other out so perfectly, we could not ask for or put together a better team than what we have today. There were many years of challenges that each one of us had to over come to get to this place where we are today but God has truly brought us all together for a reason, we make an unmatched team, nobody can do what we can in the industry. When I say that each one of us is truly passionate about what we do, I mean it with all my heart. Our work doesn’t stop when we clock out, we are all constantly thinking of ways we can better ourselves for our clients. Constantly coming up with new ideas of the next big floral trend. When you choose La Tee Da, there is not a single thing you will be disappointed about. Flowers are our passion and Customer Service is our Priority!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The success of La Tee Da flowers truly comes from a beautiful lady named Barbara Tidwell. La Tee Da Flowers was Barbara and her late husband, Tom Tidwells vision. That vision came to life in 2007 in Downtown Tyler. Barbara and Tom were not new to the flower business at all, they had previously owned their own flower shop in California for many years and also worked in the wholesale market of flowers as well many years proceeding that. Barbara and Tom worked tirelessly to bring La Tee Da to life in Tyler. Tyler needed La Tee Da desperately. There was not a flower shop that could truly execute weddings the way that La Tee Da was about to. They came swooping in and blew brides away with the designs they could achieve and their charismatic personalities. Tyler had not seen anything like it. The creativity was beyond our little city of Tyler. Barbara and Tome made you feel like you have known them for years after one conversation, they truly make everyone feel like a million bucks. La Tee Da truly blossomed with Tom and Barbara at the forefront and even after Toms passing, Barbara kept true to her passion and persevered on and grew La Tee Da to what it is today, the number one florist in the Tyler and surrounding area. When brides think of a florist, they think of La Tee Da.
