We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Reese and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks are everything. That is where life happens! Our brains are designed to keep us safe, so we look for the easiest, safest options automatically. It is not in our nature to get out of our comfort zones and take risks. It is a skill we need to practice! I have been taking risks since I was young. When you practice it regularly, just like anything else, it gets easier. I have come to crave change. Life is so much more exciting in the unknown. When I was 18, I graduated from high school in Massachusetts and got on a plane to fly across the country to attend a film school in California. I grew so much as a person in those years; I can’t even imagine who I would be if I didn’t do that. I followed my intuition for the next ten years, risking everything if an opportunity felt right…and that led me here. I was managing a kickboxing gym in 2020 when the pandemic hit and we had to shut down and do all of our classes virtually. Something in my gut told me it was time to leave and start my own business. I knew I wanted to do that one day, but I had no idea it would be so soon. I took the risk, gave my notice, and launched an online business. I was successful from day 1 (with a lot of hard work), and the way owning my own business has leveled up my life is indescribable. Take. Risks. Do it. Don’t let fear control your life. You will be okay.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been guided to help others from a young age. I have always been a natural nurturer and leader, wanting to help others see who they are capable of being. I went through many careers before finally combining everything I learned from them all and becoming a Life Coach/Relationship Counselor. I worked as a firefighter, personal trainer, yoga instructor, Nutritionist, and energy worker before realizing they are all helping you work on different aspects of the self. To be healthy, one can not just focus on diet and exercise; you must never overlook the mental, emotional and spiritual health. I help people create a well rounded, healthy lifestyle and heal what they need to from the past to live the most powerful present they can.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well that depends on the friend that’s visiting! I personally love the water, so we would most likely end up walking down to the bay from my apartment to take a walk along the beach. Water is so healing. We would absolutely visit San Francisco and enjoy the night life. Good food, good drinks, and a show or two! There are plays, musicals, the symphony…the options are endless. Museums are also a great place to spend time. Depending on my guest, there is a museum for everything!

One of my favorite things to do is relax in good company. There would definitely be a few days where we kick back, throw some food on the grill, and enjoy a group of friends. Nothing fills your soul like human connection.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Termeh Behbahani has been an enormous supporter through every single thing that I have done. She has been there through the struggles, the anxiety attacks, the successes, and so much more. She is a rock when I need one, and that’s usually my role…so it feels good to have such immense support.
