We had the good fortune of connecting with Constanza Rachi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Constanza, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” This one is my favorite. I would say and you will work like never before haha. I work on weekends, on holidays, while on vacations. But it is a different kind of work. At the end of the day, the feeling of gratitude and satisfaction is there. If you feel passionate about what you do, you will work twice as hard but you will do it knowing the rewards are like nothing else in the entire world.

I come from a middle class family that lost almost everything. I struggled a lot through out my teen and college years. I used to have awful jobs in order to pay for my education, buy the necessary things to support myself and what I wanted to do. I chose to take this and transform it in energy, in passion. Art and any creative process are a life guard. When I started with Sacreblu I was working a 12 hour shift job with a nasty boss. I came up with the idea of starting a small business, kind of a hobby that could help me to get out of there. So I began taking some orders from friends, working on my mom’s dining table. Then I made a facebook page and took some orders online. Little by little I kept taking small steps towards building something more solid. It took me five or six years to realize what I really wanted to do. Sacreblu was no longer a thing a did on my spare time. I wanted to do something that was true to myself, that spoke to others about the beauty that I find in memories, in nature. I took some of the things I like the most and framed them. What’s most important to me is resignify something that was forgotten in a drawer or in a book. How meaningful a flowers can be, the power it has to evoke a feeling that transport us to another time, to a person we love.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business – Charles Duhigg This book changed everything. I got it because I wanted to change some work related habits. I also love to read about how other business started. But instead I found the key to unlock my biggest obstacle. This book taught me that the only thing that was missing in order to succeed was believing that I could do it. It’s hard to explain, because everyone says “believe in yourself” “trust yourself” but no one ever told me that I could succeed. The author tells the story of a football coach and its team. How he trains them with new habits to play better, but they keep losing in spite of the fact that the training was working. They were missing the notion of belief. The book says something like eternal losers can be champions too. In that moment my life changed. I felt for the first time in my life that I could win, like that team did. And it was the most amazing and beautiful thing that ever happened to me.
