We had the good fortune of connecting with Cristina Ward and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cristina, what’s your definition for success?
Being able to go to sleep every night with a clear conscience.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Starting a business from the ground up is the most difficult thing I have ever done in my entire life. Making beer was my husband’s dream, and I was in charge of making the dream come true. Ordering the massive equipment, making sure it made it to the port, and then to the building without a single scratch was nerve wracking. Overseeing construction, dealing with the permitting in the City of Los Angeles was exhausting. And now finally being able to make and sell beer is a daily challenge due to Covid. I do believe you can taste our hard work and passion in every sip of our beers at HiDef Brewing!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Covid aside…there is no better place than Los Angeles! Venice Beach, Manhattan Beach and Malibu are a no brainer! Hollywood Hills with lunch and view at Yamashiro and sunset at the Griffith Observatory. Grand Central Market with the Angel’s Flight, Pershing Square…and then…down to SouthPark! A quick visit to Staples follow by dinner at Barcito and afinal beer at HiDef Brewing…the landmark of SouthPark! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My amazing tribe! From my school moms Thursday coffee at Thomas Edison to each one of my unconditional friends! I definitively couldn’t do it without them. It’s an everyday help in so many ways: Business, parenthood, and life in general! And of course family! My morning hour long skype with my mom helps make everyday a little brighter!
