We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle P. Jeter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle P., can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My firm AOI Events & PR is all about amplifying the social impact work and messages of our clients or partners through media exposure, publicity, and finding creative ways to spotlight their missions on a grand stage! Everyone loves those stories of highly successful CEOS who not only manage to scale an incredible business but who also cares about serving the community. By AOI amplifying these positive stories and features in the mainstream media we insert positive vibrations into the news cycle (which is so needed) and we change the negative stereotypes about black america, black men, and women working together. AOI also have a mentorship and internship program called Pipeline for high school and college students interested in real world business, marketing, and PR experience. Over the last 10 years, we’ve had over 50 students complete our program who uses this experience to launch pad their careers in public relations or special events.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
AOI Events & PR is a communications firm that specializes in media relations, branding, government relations, and special events. We were founded back in 2009. I was only 20 years old during my senior year at Spelman College. We are a creative communications Agency that specializes in telling positive stories across media platforms, stories of social good are amplified, sending positive vibes to viewers with the hopes of inspiring change while eradicating the news of negative stereotypes about the black community. We prioritize only working with CEOs and Companies who have a social impact or community facing mission connected to their work.
As a seasoned serial entrepreneur I got to where I am by working extremely hard, believing in myself, giving back to my community, honing my skills, becoming an expert, being resilient, staying committed to learning, investing in my business, investing in my personal growth, and having a deep faith connection with God! All of these attributes and practices are my core values. Having a value system, being authentic, trusting God, and never giving up will take you through anything life throws at you.
Nothing about bootstrapping a business at 20 years old was easy but it was well worth it! One thing that helps me get over challenges is to stay in a constant motion of forward movement. That means I don’t allow myself to stay down for too long. I evaluate the situation, figure out the lesson, brush myself off, and get at it again! I have also mastered another valuable lesson, to embrace hardships and failure because they are a breeding ground for success!
I’ve decided to give the game away! This summer will be the release of my brand new coaching program Notable Brands! In this amazing program, I help CEOs and Their Companies Land Features in Mainstream Media Outlets Without the Need to Hire of PR Rep or Publicist! This program will help so many growing companies spotlight their brands on TV, in Magazines, or Newspapers while they may not have the extensive marketing budget right now. I can’t wait to innovate the industry by expanding my reach and helping more CEOs grow and scale their businesses. My goal is to get 1000 black CEOs get verified on social media, and how do you do that you may ask? By having a Notable Brand of course! You have to sign up to get all of the details.
Everyone should know that I go by the name Jeter, I am a travelpreneur and a force to be reckoned with! I’ve mastered the unique ability as a triple threat! I am powerful and impressive behind the camera and in front of the scenes. I am a theatre artist trained in acting, modern jazz dance, and vocals. I am also a transformative speaker, media personality, and emcee. I am just as good back stage as I am onstage. I’m a producer, media & PR guru, and highly skilled in marketing, logistics, team-building, and planning. I am dynamic award-winning change-agent garnering 12 years of business ownership experience. I have curated over 400 events over the past 15 years, and I’m also a trusted advisor to governors, politicians, institutions, CEOS, and youth. My proven methods and strategies have garnered me opportunities to share the stage with many greats like Master P, Kindred The Family Soul, Wale, Wise Intelligent, James Lindsay of Rap Snacks, Governor Tom Wolf, Senator Bob Casey, Yandy Smith Harris, Sonia Sanchez, Angela Yee, David Shands Sleepis4Suckers and DJ Aktive. I have been quoted in over 30 national and regional publications for my abilities to advocate, inspire, lead, and build community.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Must See Places In LA:
1. OMG you have to go to the shopping district downtown in the wholesale and retail district! And when you do be sure your credit card is ready and you are wearing comfortable clothes because there are so many amazing things you will want to pick up and shop for hours!
2. For the BEST chicken sandwich in town, you have to stop by Chicken N Chips at 2728 Fletcher Drive! It’s great for lunch or dinner and when you get there ask for my brother Jones, he will be sure you are taken care of!
3. Grab a car and go for a drive! Head down to Malibu Beach for the day, get a bed on the beach, order food and enjoy the vibes. Be sure you bring plenty of money for parking, food, and entertainment. Get ready for a wonderful day and fun in the sun!
4. Perch Restaurant is a HOT destination right now! A very cool dinner spot with gorgeous views and top notch service. Make a reservation early though because it gets packed.
5. And I would be a bad host if I didn’t encourage you to throw on your sneakers and get out there on a hiking trail up the breathtaking mountains. There are so many options and of course the most famous one to see the Hollywood sign. No matter which one you explore, it will leave you feeling motivated and accomplished. Go for it!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As a graduate of Spelman College, I want to send light and love to my alma mater! Where do I start? Dedicating 4 years of my life to excelling through this institution has prepared me for a life of leadership, service, and community. This legacy has given me one of my most beloved networks, which are my Spelman Sisters! This sisterhood is empowering, challenging, and life changing. I am so grateful to be a Spelman Woman! Shoutouts to ALL of my Spelman Sisters Worldwide!
Major love and shoutouts to Kendra James and Mia McNeely of Royal Relations! I appreciate both of these amazing professionals who have labored alongside me for hours, months, and years to build AOI and service our many clients. Having a thriving team of like-minded women to work with makes it easy to report back to work daily. This inspire me, encourage me, and help me grow!
What would my life be without my amazing family! I truly grateful for my Mother Diane, Father Emerson, Step-Father Darryl, and My Partner Emmanuel! This dynamic love bunch really fuel my fire, fan my flames, protect me, love me, pray for me, show up for me and any billion dollar idea I bring to them they say “Go for it Baby! You can do it!” They believe in all of my superpowers and that makes me invinceable. We all need strong love and we are nothing without our core, that’s family!
