We had the good fortune of connecting with Dee Hagler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dee, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
At a young age I knew that I wanted to be a business owner. I have always had a business mindset and I love the process of creating and developing business ideas. For my 30th birthday I wanted to give myself a special gift. I was not interested in going to the club, turning up or vacationing, you know all the cool stuff society and social media says to do. I wanted to do/give myself something that would make me grow personally and professionally. After sitting down and doing some reflection, I decided to start my own business. I started with thinking of things that I love and had some type of skill at. This is when I decided to start my own mobile car detailing business. I started washing cars at the age of 15 in front of my moms house with just soap and a bucket. I remember my parents getting me a new car my senior year of high school . It was a 2004 Ford Mustang 40th year anniversary, to be exact. I loved that car! I saved up some money then went and bought me a few supplies to wash my car to keep it clean. I would literally wash my car almost every weekend. I started with just washing my car, then I started washing my moms car and as time progressed I looked up and I was washing my family, friends, and neighbors cars. After graduating high school and attending college, I stopped car detailing however 12 years later that passion and love for serving others returned and that is when Dee Hagler Mobile Detailing was birthed. It started from just a small passion of washing my own car which then grew to a great passion and love for serving others. I see it now as a form of art, I get to create a clean canvas and create a process of transformation. I often state that it gives me the same type of therapeutic satisfaction of those who enjoy cleaning around the house.

What should our readers know about your business?
I believe what sets my business apart from others is our dedication to customer satisfaction and attention to details. One of my core values and something I train my employees on is having the heart and mindset to serve others. One of the things I am most proud of is that I was able to create something from scratch that I am now able to serve others and also provide jobs for others. It was not easy getting to where my business is today and I also have a ways to go. it took a lot of sacrifice, time , effort and dedication. Some of the key lessons I have learned are

1. Have Faith, You have to believe it before you see it

2. Dont Quit, Always find a way to figure it out. Persist until it exist!

3. Success is a process, give it time! fall in love and focus on the process not the end result!

4. Failure/ mistakes are apart of success, learn from your experiences to progress forward

I want to leave a legacy when its all said and done. I strive to be a progressive man each day in all areas of my life. Progression not perfection! I want to be a positive example to others and have a great impact and contribution to the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First I would like to say shoutout to God! I am nothing without Him! I would also like to give credit to my family for contributing to my success especially my parents, Ray and Linda, my siblings Tee and Ray Jr, my amazing Wife Alex, and my Lead wash Tech Austin. They are my foundation! From a young age my parents have always believed in me and have always pushed me to be great in whatever I choose to do. My sister Tee, aka my other mom, has always been there for me, protecting me, praying for me and nurturing me. She is truly my best-friend. My brother Ray Jr has been influential and a positive example to me. He is one of the main factors of my success as a business owner. I think I am an decent car detailer but he is next level. Shoutout Raydiant Car Detailing, for anyone in the Bay Area I highly recommend using his services. To my amazing wife, my #1 fan, the milk to my cereal, the peanut butter to my jelly, the string to my kite my true love, thank you for loving me and keeping me grounded. My success is not possible without my wife! I may get the spotlight but without her there is no spotlight. My wife actually is responsible for my infamous slogan ” It’s All in the Deetails!” Austin makes it happen, he is often the face of the company. His work ethic and dedication to the company has taken the company to another level. If it were not for Austin the company may not be in business today, he has had that great of an impact. Lastly, I would like to shoutout my biggest motivation as of late, my beautiful daughter Harliee. On those hard days that we all must go through in life, my daughters simple smile gives me all that I need to press forward. Thank you Harliee, daddy loves you! These are a few books that has helped me with my success
