Meet Dion Lack | Filmmaker, Comedian, Writer & Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dion Lack and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dion, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I remind my children every day to love each other as they love themselves. And they know that their parents love them to death. About 6 years ago around Christmas, I “cautiously” explained to my daughters that their childhood memories were more important than perishable gifts. So with that idea, I convinced my family to use our Christmas money to travel more around the holidays. And instead of sending out Christmas cards, I thought it would be even better if we created a Family Christmas Rap which would give a rundown of every highlight that has happened to us that year.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For starters, I’m the co-owner of a 9-year-old company, LackToast Entertainment @LackToastEnt, which has written, directed, produced, and/or edited numerous films and tv shows for ourselves and others. I, myself have written and self-published two sci-fi books titled Voyage of Truth which we will release an audiobook very soon. I was fortunate to star in and win the best Superbowl commercial in 2010 for Doritos. Then this past year, we made the big leap by opening up our own studio for creatives @LTEVisions. This is a place to shoot headshots, portraits, interviews, podcasts, music videos, etc. This is the first of many. We want to go bigger and better next time. I’m super excited about what God has in store for the company and myself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s a great question because It all depends on which best friend comes to town. Is this pre COVID or through a pandemic because I have partygoers, foodies and I have exotic museum friends. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would have to start off by giving praises to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for being the biggest mentor and influencer in my life. Secondly, I would have to give a major shout out to my mother, my angel Arvelee Bailey for watching over me and my family since her passing. And Lastly, there wouldn’t be any Dion Lack if there wasn’t the support from my wife Dawnise, who the loving mother of my two beautiful daughters & my best friend Twilla, who’s also my business partner.
